Y2K items at Big Lots

I was at three Big Lots in two cities over the week end. Al three had at least 75 hurrican (oil) lamps and I would guess at least a 1000 candles. Two of the stores also had a lot of lamp oil. Didn't see any at the third. They also had back pack book bags for 7.99 and 9.99. These are small ones but could be used as bug out bags. I live in "west central NC" in an area locally known as "the Triad".

Big Lots also got in a big shipment of lamp oil priced .50 cheaper than other stores.

I also grabbed 12.5 oz. cans of Morton House chicken & gravy, pork & gravy, turkey & gravy & mushrooms and salisbury steak in gravy all at $1.29. Another find was Morton House 15 0z. cans of corned beef hash for .99. All were dated yr. 2000. Can't do much better than that for a quick meal! (Cincinnati stores)

In Tennessee, Big Lots has durham semolina pasta for .38 per pound.

Dollar General Stores has farina for $1 and baking soda for .50 per box.

Sav-a-Lot has luncheon meat (like spam) for .69 per can. I tried it and found that it is very similar in taste to Spam.
