Respirators - Where to buy?

After watching earthquake footage last month in Iran, reminded me to order respirators like the rescue crews were using when searching for bodies in the cities. Anyone have a source(s) for top quality units that would handle a potential bad long term situation, either (sewage or decay)?

Those are just face masks. My friend told me Real GOods has them in their catalog but you can probably buy them at a medical supply type of pharmacy for the sick room.

Rob Sounds like you mean industrial-type respirators, which are usually available at places that carry painting equipment, such as large hardware stores, home depot etc. Read the label to see what the particular one is designed for screening out ie paint fumes, lead dust etc. Another source would be supplies for paramedcis, EMS and firefighters, there are specialty catalogs for these trades, in that case you would be looking for something like smoke-enhalation protection. Grim to consider the possible need for....
