availability of converting SLR camera to digital cameragreenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread |
Sometime ago I read of a company that was marketing a digital camera which would convert a SLR camera to a digital. It would fit as a film roll in the back of the camera for about 800$. What happened?I am very impressed by the usefullness and completeness of this website. Thank you.

Hi Rita,Thanks for the kudos on the site!
Imagek has changed names to Silicon Film, and has a web site at www.siliconfilm.com. The product has been perpetual vaporware, but it looks like they're actually finally getting close. I take it as a very positive indication that they've added Doug Howe as their marketing director - Doug has a long history in the digicam industry, and counts as a true heavyweight...

Hi Rita, you are probably talking about efilm announced by Imagek. You can see more in their site http://www.imagek.com/ Exellent idea but lots of limitations for the moment.

The last time I looked at the Imagek home page, they appeared to be out of business. The page didn't exist.
