Bennett's comment on CSPAN 2

Just got through watching the tape of the Bennett-Dodd luncheon address. I was particularly alarmed by Bennett's answer to a question that there were problems in April but we didn't hear about it. He also said there would probably be problems on 9/9 that we also would not hear about.

Any ideas what he was talking about regarding April's problems?

No, its not possible that there were problems in April that we did not hear about. Impossible I say!! We have been told by many that the absence of problems shows that we are fools!! There will be no unreported problems now either. The government wants all of the tin foil for them selves.

Well, if an organization had problems with its accounting software in April that did not affect its ability to manufacture or distribute goods, I wouldn't expect that organization to run to the press with news of the accounting glitch.

Especially if the organization has stockholders.

not an xpert, but seems that since the supposed 9999 problem is only an "end program" end of file" that a reboot or offline for the day is all that is needed to deal with the problem.

so...there could have been problems that were easily dealt with or covered up or fixed with only a re-boot.

relax - this is only a test - do not adjust your screen (scream?)............................................................. ...................................................................... .....................yet (2000)
