OT: One of Clinton's most ardent supporters has definitely changed her mind about him.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

New York WABC's Lynn Samuels, who has been Clinton's most ardent apologist has now vehemently reversed course-

My personal favorite quote is:

"They should arrest Clinton, put him on trial and execute him," Samuels has been railing of late, in her inimitable Queens, New York, accent. "He's a mass murderer," she adds for good measure.

Gawd, I love when folks see the light!!!

She thinks OJ was innocent too, as I recall. I like listening to Lynn but I've only agreed with her a handfull of times in my life. It's nice to see her getting it on Waco.

Now turn her off, OR, and turn on Bob Grant! ;)

So she's upset about Waco. The jury is still out on whether Clinton and Reno broke the law in their handling of that 51 day standoff. Lets see what is uncovered. Accusing him of murder and saying he should be "tried and executed" is a bunch of BS at this point. This is America, and last time I checked, a person has a right to due process and was innocent until proven guilty by a jury of his peers.

I guess the victims at Mt. Carmel had some difficulty understanding how due process works.

What ever gave you the idea that Clinton or Reno have any control over the FBI, ATF, or Delta Forces? Those guys get their orders from some bastards that have been around a lot longer than Clinton. So you think it is his job to keep these guys under control? Yeah sure, if he wants to end up like JFK.

I agree with "@", above. I've read what there is out there to read about "Waco". After visiting the Waco Holocost Electronic Museum [www.mnsinc.com/SkyWriter/WacoMuseum/Index.htm], I didn't think I had a personal context into which to put what I read there. After sleeping on it, I realized I did. I grew up in the "Jim Crow" south. There was a "joke" back then about a Mississippi sheriff. [No offense meant to any reader on this board.] He'd come across the body of a black man drown in a swamp. His hands were tied behind his back and he'd been horribly disfigured. The sheriff stroked his chin and said, "Worse damn case'a suicide ah ever saw." What "ironic" "humor" that in the waxing years/months/moments of the twentieth century, that Uncle Sam would be playing the role of the Miss'ippi sheriff of "Jim Crow's" joke. RE Waco, Uncle is like a "reverse Oz"-- We have the benign kindly wizard on the screen, and the arrogant scarey-looking facial image pulling the levers just out of site. The little barking dogs (looking for what's "really" goin' on) pull the curtain back to reveal the identity of who's there. Benign kindly ole Uncle Sam advises us, from the screen wholly visible to us, "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. . ."
