OT (sort of): Polar Shift - Geophysical Research Letters

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

There's been a book out there for years on how the poles are going to shift on 05 05 2000. Now there is Geophysical research that supports a polar shift occurring 5440+ or - 30 years ago turning the sahara from a subtropical steppe climate to the desert we know today, disrupting ancient civilization.

Disclaimer: When there were all the predictions California was going to fall in the ocean in ~1969, I went to San Francisco to watch. I seem to remember the cause of that was going to be planetary alignment, too. Damn thing didn't fall in. On the other hand, the computer bug is real.

This has absolutely nothing to do with y2k and is a waste of bandwidth. How about sticking to the subject of this board?

I actually thought this was properly marked as OT and ng did not mislabel this post. Why then bash him cody..???

I for one thought this was a very interesting post...

But then... I am generally clueless anyway...

Oh come on Cody, yacking about something being off topic around here is like closing the barn door after the horses have long gone. Trust me, Elvis has left the building...

At this point, its all over but the screaming. Either way. So let's have some fun.

I visit less frequently because of the off topic posts, name-calling, and the endless bickering. But, guess what? I skip over those entries that look like useless drivel.

I do appreciate the posts by Diane and others (including FactFinder, although I wonder who he works for sometimes).

Besides, I consider it another opportunity to get back at the pollys if they turn out to be right about Y2K...

Leaning forward in the trenches,
