Advantage Group has forecast a first quarter profit of $1.3 million on revenues of $14.5m. In the same quarter last year the figures were $232,000 and $4.76m respectively.

Chief executive Greg Cross said the growth was driven by the company's software solutions division, which was the largest revenue and margin contributor. "The focus for the software solutions division, during the remainder of this quarter and the next, will be on meeting the Y2K requirements of our large international oil company customers," Mr Cross said.

"We are also completing development of a Windows NT-based product ... but this may not be seen until mid-2000."
