Birches in Fall

I have had this printed in various media including: inkjet, Illfochrome, and have viewed it on computer screens. However none look as good as the slide on a lighttable. It's a tough one to deal with because of the high contrast between the white of the birches and the dark of the leaves and shadows. Any suggestions on how to manage the contrast in printing and digitally.

I have dealt with the same issue in scanning. The solution I use is to adjust the midtones by using a gamma correction (see examples on my website). The software you have may have some ways of doing this. I have taken the liberty of uploading a modified version (somewhat smaller, since your original exceeded the size guidelines). You also might want to use the Unsharp Mask. Let me know if this helps:
