Will Marshall Law begin today?

If anyone sees troops mobilizing, black helicopters, or Chinese with guns, let us know. Thanks in advance.

Bob,

Been lookin. Ain't seen a black helicopter yet. Had a false alarm, though. Turned out to be the local news chopper.

We have four chinese down at the other end of IT dept, they don't look agressive though.

-- rambo (rambo@thewoods.com), September 01, 1999.

Why are you expecting marshall law? I had heard (strictly rumor) that the military would be on stand-by as of Sept 1. I had never heard even wild speculation that there would be troops in the streets today.

-- R (riversoma@aol.com), September 01, 1999.

I believe it was a tongue in cheek remark, but I could be wrong.

I work midnight shift at a convenience store. Last night two oriental men came in , speaking broken English, and bought a pre-paid pnone card. Must have needed to call in for orders. Then again I could be wrong.

*Sigh*......

I don't think we have enough Marshalls, federal or other wise, to enforce the law.

Ten truck loads of National Guard left here yesterday, I heard they were headed to Mariposa County and San Bernardino.

It so happens that Marshall Law is a neighbor of mine. He told me that MARTIAL law was a definite possibilty.

If it happens, perhaps Marshall Law will be obliged to help maintain Martial Law.

He may have to rely on his knowledge of the martial arts.

And I will continue to be the grammar police.

Marshall Law? Is he a country and western singer I have never heard of before?

Martial Law on the other hand may be right around the corner..at least I thought so. But then I was wrong about that. Wait until the riot start and the local authorities lose control. That will be the trigger. They will not do this preemptively.

September 1 is just the approximate start date for what the military feels will be the Y2K transition period. They feel awareness will increase with the 9/9/99 "tests" that various utilities will be 'presenting' and maybe engaging in with their tiptoes.

Also, school is starting, and ppl generally feel a "get back to business" urge in September. In Autumn the squirrels start gathering nuts and 'hoarding' for the winter seige.

September 1 simply marks the accelerating ramp-up fast-forwarding the End Game strategies. The noose tightens October 1, November 1, December 1, and the plank drops January 1.

In many ways they're "playing it by ear" and will 'out' their 'preps' according to how loud that freight train rumbles the rails.

If we get Martial law,It won't the the marshalls we will have to worry about,it may be the marshals thou.

-- Shaking head (huh?@getreal.com), September 01, 1999.

You laugh about what you do not understand. You haven't bothered to educate yourself about U.S. contingency planning, or the Chinese espionage and bribery that has reached the highest levels of our government. And you're having a good laugh, so why ruin it by gathering and analyzing facts? Laugh away, chuckleheads.

On the other hand, if you would like to distinguish yourself from these chuckleheads, with their preschool spelling ability and their ignorance-on-parade, try a visit to freerepublic.com. Look for the latest posts, or the special section on China. This is real. The fact that it is well-documented yet under-reported in the mainstream news (and so doesn't register with you spoon-fed ignoramuses) is almost as alarming as the bribery and totalitarian scheming itself.

"You laugh about what you do not understand."

Liberty, I admire your zeal and passion. I am educated on the issues you suggested, and I agree with you in many things. Please do not take offense at my saying that keeping a sense of humor shows a kind of strength, and not necessarily ignorance, naivety, or apathy. I read an interview with a survivor of the (Holocaust) concentration camps who said that they always could tell when someone was going to die soon, because they would lose their sense of humor.

I'm sure you read other sources besides Free Republic, but it seems to be the only thing you ever suggest. It gives the probably inaccurate impression that you are not well-educated in a well- rounded and balanced way. I am not suggesting that you change your basic views. Just to keep perspective. Jesus offended some when He said, "For you have the poor with you always..." but He realized that we must keep balance and perspective. Who loved the poor and downtrodden or took that more seriously than He did?

You will burn yourself out, and we will lose a good soldier in the cause of Freedom.

Dear Liberty...

Marshall, Marshal, Martial...It was kinda (kind of) slow this morning. I was trying to add a little (provide a bit of; contribute) levity (make fun of, joke around)regarding the date September 1, 1999...don't be such an ass-hole about it (er, pseudointellect).

Kindest regards,

Unkle Bob from Amerika

UncleBob, Mumsie,

Sorry if I singed your eyebrows off with my dragon-breath. Truly.

Please understand that I believe this is a real threat. It's not in the theoretical realm for me. We could lose everything, and lose it forever, if we allow a police state to take hold. This has happened before, in Germany, in Russia, in China. It's being done by the same socialist ideologues. Their m.o. is clear - after they declare the emergency, they will take the guns, and after that, the killing begins. Over a hundred million killed within living memory. No magic wand has been waved since then that prevents it from happening here.

As for freerepublic.com, who else taking a stand against the President's and the DNC's treasonous receipt of funds from Communist China? They are the center of conservative information and activism on the WWW. Have you spent any time at the forum? There's enormous diversity of opinion there. If you can suggest a better location, fine.

As for my appearing as if I am "well-balanced," do you expect me to argue the statist side, or act as if I'm preparing a diverse sampling of lunchmeats for the ladies church league? I'm not trying to impress people with anything other than the DIRE, DEADLY NATURE OF THE TOTALITARIAN THREAT THAT IS FACING THEM, AND THE SWIFTNESS WITH WHICH IT CAN OVERCOME THEM IF THEY ARE NOT INFORMED, VIGILANT, AND WELL-PREPARED. When it's accomplished, and they're rounding us up, and we really are in a concentration camp with no recourse but humor, I'll tell you the one about the pirate that walks into a bar... But for now, lets get in gear and save the Republic before it's too late, shall we?

You will not like me, because I am hard. If it saves your life, I don't care if you like me or not.

Liberty

I agree that you should not be too serious all of the time, it will give you a heart attack. Laughing will not assure that will not get a coronary, but if you do, it will seem funnier.

Cheers!

I fail to see any humor in the prospects for Martial Law. It is a distinct possibility based on the realities we now face. Get ready and stay vigilant. The "full court press" by the Government began (innocently enough) TODAY.

Dear Liberty,

Apology accepted, and remember, we, I believe, are all on your side of this issue. I have several guns, food, water (and a pool), generator, and other rations safely stored away. I am aware of the dangers of martial law and am aware of its history. I am aware of the Clinton executive orders to confiscate such items in the event of an emergency.

I also take Y2K serious enough to alienate friends and family, be spit on laughed at, and scorned.

Having said that, I believe that all good and honest people will unite in the event of unfair and unwarranted government oppression. Unfortunately, we will also have to carry the unprepared and unbelieving on our backs through such a debacle if it truly comes to pass.

Regards

Liberty: "Please understand that I believe this is a real threat"

So do I. So do many others on this forum. You are missing the point. You are quite wrong that others feel less passionate, less concerned, less ALARMED, are taking less action, or making less preparations, just because they joke around.

"If you can suggest a better location, fine. "

I didn't say that. I merely suggested that you try a different approach. Who was more passionate than Paul, who said, "I will be all things to all men."

Liberty: "I don't care if you like me or not."

What makes you think that attitude will help accomplish what you proclaim to care the most about, i.e., getting the word out to rouse others to help "save the Republic" ?

If you are so "hard", what motivates you to "save the Republic"? Hardness of heart is why the French revolution was so bloody and chaotic.

You don't care if we like you, but we share a common cause, and we WANT to like you!

Salutations!

Deedah,

>I agree that you should not be too serious all of the time, it will give you a heart attack. Laughing will not assure that will not get a coronary, but if you do, it will seem funnier.

Now THAT'S funny!

Mumsie,

Sorry. But I share Irving's view (unauthorized though he may be). There is nothing funny about the totalitarian juggernaut bearing down on us. The work of having to resist it is ugly indeed, and I'd much rather forestall it by raising awareness. It is horror, slavery and megadeath in the name of socialist utopia, all the more sinister because it coopts the most well-meaning, altruistic impulses of it's victims in order to achieve it's goals. I just can be very gracious or congenial about that. And the gravest aspect of this is the unexpected speed with which it will overtake us. The wolf is decidedly at the door, and at this point, I firmly believe that those who can't see it are blind not due to lack of evidence, but because they simply don't want the responsibility of knowing.

I still don't care if you like me. But you made me like you.

Liberty, if you only knew the grimmest darkest scenarios I wrestle with in my private thoughts....

I still think we need to laugh ~ at times ~.

I do like you, and may have to tickle you!
