Yesterday on CNBC, they had a financial advisor that was pointing out the bond rate of 6% was twice the equity rate of 3% and that the last time this happened was just before the crash of 1987 and 1929. He was just driving some of guys nuts with his charts. He was very keen in stating that a crash is not about to occur but rather this has happened before. He did say a correction of 30% would be in order. Does this sound familiar Andy?

Looking at the poll results, the majority think a 30% correction is in order.

Great post. "A", maybe some of the other polls could be formatted like this.

My brother and I have a month-by-month family pool (a little less grisely than the infamous "death pool" of the techies).

BTW, those of you looking to preserve capital and then make a buck on the return trip, beware of the "dead cat bounce" in January. The crash of 1929 and following months had a lot of false rallys. You buy into one and you may catch the proverbial "falling knife".

I highly recommend "The Great Crash of 1929" by John Kenneth Gailbraith (found on this forum some time back).

According to this survey, most people are not confident in the stock market.
