Adaptec Easy CD Creator Deluxe accepts .dat files from other VCDs without problems. .dat files are MPEG-1 White Book standard .mpg files after they have been processed (error corrected, flags set, etc.)for use specifically with Video CD. Ordinarily you would need .mpg files that conform to strict White Book standards before any VCD creation s/w will accept them; however, VCD Creator in Easy CD does accept both .mpg and .dat.

The latest Nero 4.0.5.0 will do that too. The .dat files will automatically be renamed by Nero to Avseq??.dat and they will be placed into the Mpegav folder. You can try before you buy Nero 4.0.5.0 from 'ahead.de' site.
