In four days it will be September. Where are the millions of compliance statements? All we have to date are PR statements. Wake UP PEOPLE!

Is it my imagination, or are now even more people on this forum suddenly going bonkers??!!!! Dude, September 1 is not going to rattle anyone's cage. Gawd!

We think, in the middle of September, after the kids are back in school, there may be the first in a series of "accidental" t________ strikes. Doesn't feel like this Autumn will be normal. But the lid will be clamped down on Y2K, naughty untouchable unspeakable unmentionable concept. But all those cover-up words? The field will be set up for blame ...

No, I guess its not my imagination after all....

But we know how to fire up your imagination, KoS. Scoop earth, mix water, stir ... ;^)

...add babes!!!!! You got that right, A&L!!

I must have missed the newsletter. Is t-e-r-r-o-r-i-s-t no longer an acceptable word?

Dearest K -- I do believe you're correct. I think (or so my family tells me) that I myself am getting a bit out there. I trust their judgement and have therefore decided that, since my preps are done, I should perhaps 1) stay away from this board a bit and 2) focus on my mud wrestling techniques. Easier said than done. We'll see. Aloha always.

Oh well, so much for good intentions. Here I am again. Actually I was simply reading over my previous post, and it sounded so, well, self-centered. I needed to come back and clarify a few things. First of all, as I'm sure you're all aware, I couldn't tell you much about the difference between your main frame and your main squeeze. But there are a few things that I DO know. I think I'm not much different from many of the people who post here. I know that there is very real cause for concern and preparation. I've never been one to accept what is said to me without doing my best to discover the underlying truth. Through this board, and other sources, I've been able to collect, to the best of my ability, a store of information. I've had to sort through it all and come to my own conclusions about it all. In my previous post I said something like my preps were ready. To my ears, that sounds very cavalier. I think what I really mean is that I have come to my own conclusions about this situation, I need to do what I think I need to do, and go on living my life. It's difficult though. I think that I keep lurking here because of the feeling of community. I think that's why a lot of you are here. Who else is there to really talk to? Anyway, I simply can't imagine that I'm the only one who feels this way, and I'm so very thankful to those of you who put so much of yourselves into this board. But in the end, we all know where this is all going, don't we? I mean, we can keep collecting the information, but just how much information do we really need? We already have the answer. At least, the best that we can have at this point. O.K. grngrl, collect yourself. Somebody please help me out here -- O.K. this is it -- You know what you know; take care of yourselves and your communities. Don't forget that you have a life to live TODAY. Continue trying to educate others, and don't cut yourselves off. Your most important "prep" is the people around you. I know I sound naive, but I have experience -- believe me. Above all, practice your mud wrestling. Aloha.

scotty lehman WANTS ivan mingham to be right. scotty lehman is an extremist. this board attracts extremists. it nurtures them. you should silence the extremists if you want to be taken seriously. no one will believe your y2k predictions or take you serious if you let extremists run this forum.

You're not an Aussie, by any chance, are you?

Cracks appearing in the codes

Showing due diligence is a complex business, no matter what industry you're in. But particularly in banking and finance.

The Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (APRA) requires quarterly returns; the ASX requires periodical updates; ASIC and the Australian Payment Clearing Association (APCA) want to know where they are up to as well.

As a result, Cincom and Bridge have found most don't kick up a fuss about another few hundred thousand dollars for what amounts to an extra thorough last-minute check-up especially if their code is found falling short of what they've reported.

Find IV&V clients willing to talk? You would sooner find them mud-wrestling naked in Martin Place. "It's the subject of inordinate paranoia ... understandably, given their legal position," said Bridge Computing's Mr McLean...

Would that position be a figure-four, or just a simple half-nelson? 8-}]
