A very nice image, the question I have, why didn't you fill the frame with the subject which are the flowers, if you crop this by losing the top 1/3 (about 1/2 in above the flower) of the photo which is out of focus anyway and distracts the eye, you would have the subject maintaining a much larger area of attention and still have the out of focus green base (which I like) supporting the subject. The color is very good, I hope you did it by exposure and not a machine. Pat

Thank-you for your comments, Pat. This image is cropped from the orginal and this rendition looked best to me. As you pointed out, there are several ways that could have been done to have achieved a pleasing composition.

The color on my screen is faithful to the original slide. The mix of green, white flowers and near black shadows is what attracted me to this image.

Actually, I like this composition...the out of focus green buds lead my eyes straight to the subject. Of course, there is the argument that they would lead the eye out of the picture, but I don't think it does that here because of the contrast between the flowers and the background, which grabs the attention anyway.

Don't change the composition or cropping. As it is, it is very gentle, sophisticated, artistic.
