Sexing Bronze Turkeys

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

We have 2 broadbreasted bronze turkeys that are 3 months old. They both look alot alike but I've only seen the one act aggressive and fluff up like a traditional Thanksgiving turkey. I also have noticed a slight difference in their tail feathers and webbing under their necks.

we have two bronze turkeys and lucked out to get a male and female. 1. the waddle(thingy hanging from the nose is much longer on a male. 2. if one is puffed out and dragging his feathers on the ground thatt's his signal he wants to mate. 3. only the male will gobble. the female makes a softer noise. and if you feed them by hand our male is more agresive and peck a little harder. i am not a turkey breeder these are just some of the things i have noticed.
