Fresno radio program

Here in Fresno, Ca today a talk show radio station host had a two hour show on Y2K. The general overall comments of the host made people who were preparing for Y2K look like they were paranoid crazy people. You were made to look like a joke if you prepare. I had just gotten my husband to think preparing was not insane and now this radio talk host has him back to square one. What do you do when the media is against you?

Mary,

Turn off the radio. Cancel the newspaper subscription. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Sincerely, Stan Faryna

Media people have an unthinking, kneejerk reaction against anything that might make you think independently because independent thinkers don't need media figures to tell them what to think.

Get your money out of the bank as soon as possible. Cash will be king in 2000 and even more so in 2001.

mary, you wonderful contrarian, grab your browbeaten hubby by both big ears, press close to him, and ask him sweetly... who's he married to and where does he want to sleep (bed or couch)? he can get it or get the couch!

Ah, the Lysistrata gambit. Excellent!

I was kinda shocked tonight too. The two "twinkies" on our local Almost Broadcasting Company affiliate were spinning the "don't worry, be happy" like mothers. Guess what I learned. We'll have plenty of money, no problems with food, fuel, or utilities, there is no chance that anything will fail. And the best part of this story is, if something does fail it will be on a weekend, and everything will be fixed by Monday, January 3rd, 1900 (damn, there goes my keyboard again). Well hells bells, I'm taking my MRE's back to the surplus store for a refund.

Who owns ABC News? Answer that question and you will understand their programming.

Major media in this country is corporate, and they serve corporate interests.
