We have a perfect Money Puzzle Exchanger score!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

About five minutes before I wrote this post, I have confirmed that MvdV has achieved a perfect score in Money Puzzle Exchanger - I believe that's the first such accomplishment recorded on the MAME emulator... to my knowledge anyway...

MvdV didn't mention specifics... so I will :)

344,850 points (worth 35 points if they didn't lock at 16...)

Level 39! (Worth about 30 points...)

164 Chains! (Worth about 27 or so points...)

16 Max Chain - with no help from an eraser or a rank up! (17 points)

All of this was done in seven minutes, two seconds.

They are all worth 16 points per category(except time), so that's a perfect 64 points. Without the locks, I'd estimate about 110 points!

Once again, congratulations MvdV!

And thanks to all for reading :)

Un-freakin-believable.

That's all I can say after watching this recording. I can't believe he got the 16-part chain so EARLY, without having to use the ER or RU icons. Can't believe how carefully that was planned out. And Level 39? Man oh man... if only he'd matched those two RU's near the end, he could have broken 40... not that it matters once you've already maxed out the 16 points..

Never thought I'd see it happen since I'll never be able to do it myself. :) Mad props to MvdV!

I must say Congratulations to MvdV, and ask if you could teach the rest of us how to do that! :)

Makes my 26 look pitiful... (I have made 30 in practice but I wasn't recording it - argh!)

It's interesting we assume it's a "he" that made this recording, i'm sure one of these days some girl is going to get really pissed :) truly an insane recording, the speed at which he makes decisions is phenominal, there were plenty of chances that would have boosted his level to 40 early on as well, i think there were two special coin mistakes (maybe there was a reason for exchanging them with the screen close to empty?) that if he didn't make them he would have had a full screen when the special coins were exchanged to get more chains/points/etc.

mad phat or whatever congrats to you mv, and it even plays back in mame35 :)

two words: HOLY SHIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEETTTT!!! let's just hope this is zwaxy's cue to start scoring MPE solo play by regular score (not the 2-digit one shown at the end)

all my congrats to MV - david

Great Score !! my best score is for the moment 39. I was wondering if there's a money puzzle exchanger version playable online ? it could be interesting to have some mpe tournaments :). If you got answers, please reply me here : groovykid@hotmail.com

On a related not, MV's recording was later determined to have slowdown cheat performed on it, so i don't think we have a uncheated 100% speed 64 yet.

-- Chad (churritz@crash.cts.com), November 04, 2001.

Correct - it was later determined that slowdown was used. Aaron Pieper did submit a legal and perfect money puzzle exchanger recording... one day short of two years after my first recording... which was in money puzzle exchanger - solo play :) GB9

I have made a 63 on my MVS but I think I'll have to make a 64 as soon as I receive my hotrod... and also can play during the olympiades

Do you need to make a movie or will a screen shot do? My best to date is a 51. I love this game. I especially love it when you're playing in the zone and the chains are just coming to you without you even thinking about.

I won't be a jerk about this, but that is why it's called the Action Replay page. We use INP files (pretty much a movie) from MAME to show others our skill and talent. And if you didn't realize that at first, then just ignore the entire first line :)

Hmm, I think prairiedog2k ask yoann to make a movie or a screenshot from his 63 on MVS. On MVS they're not inp, so we can't see yoann's skills :-)

No, I really think that he is saying if he should make a movie or will a screen shot do, not the other guy :)

i had made 60 two times. i think thge problem of this game is the limit of the score 64 i like very much this game and i was search an on-line chanel that let play us one vs.one my best solo play was 145 chain,11 max chain, 36 level,245.000points in 6.37 minutes!

-- jose luis lopes (jose.l.s.lopes.@.clix.pt), March 11, 2003.

I get it , i'm the best i made the perfect game 64 points in only 5,07 minutes, i let you a challenge MvdV for a one vs one game and i promise i will win, 287394 points,30 level,126 chain,15 max chain this is my perfect game but i made 322000 points,38 level,148 chain and 16 as max chain but in different games.congratulation and i hope you accept my challenge.

-- jose luis santos lopes (jose.l.s.lopes.@.clix.pt), April 09, 2003.

and i thought that i was approaching matrix style awareness with my 37 point running on kawa x.

In all my years of game playing this has got to be m most played two player game.

Cant seem to last past 5 mins 30 secs on solo play though..... Respect to the enlightened MPE massive
