It should be carefully considered by anyone in a LOCAL position of power or authority that when someone in a remote position of power (who cannot be found and held accountable by the local citizenry) asks YOU to lie about Y2K readiness in your community to your local constituents or readers, he is setting YOU up to bear the consequences! NATIONAL LEADERS KNOW THEY ARE UNREACHABLE AS FAR AS ACCOUNTABILITY FOR EVEN NATIONAL DISRUPTIONS OF INFRASTRUCTURE. THEY KNOW ALSO THAT SHOULD Y2K PROVE DISASTEROUSLY LIFE THREATENING, THOSE WHO WERE FALSELY ASSURED THAT THEY NEED NOT PREPARE WILL BE DRAGGING LOCAL OFFICIALS AND REPORTERS OUT OF THEIR NESTS TO ACCOUNT. It won't be the survivalists doing this, we never believed your hollow reassurances and platitudes all along. IT WILL BE THE PEOPLE THAT TRUSTED YOU. So, officials and reporters remember when someone in Washington DC, your state capital or "corporate headquarters" asks you to lie about Y2K remember it's not his ass he is risking.
