In order, the source reported that all three objects would strike the Earth on November 7th, 1999 (one day into the fall passage through the Taurid Meteor Stream). The first would come down in Siberia (a symbolic recreation of the Tunguska event?), the second would strike in central Manitoba, Canada if it did not bounce or "skip" off the atmosphere because of its shallow intercept course, and that the 3rd would hit in the Atlantic ocean off the Northwestern coast of Africa.

Let's not drag Dick "Kill Shot" Hoaxland into the fray, OK?

Ron,

I thought Dr. Doom, the remote viewer guy, was the "kill shot" merchant... Maybe No Spam has data on these three anomalous objects caught after the eclipse...

-- andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), August 22, 1999.

You're correct. Major Ed Dames is the remote viewer Guru who has predicted a solar "kill shot" in our immediate future.

Hoagland is the guy who thinks everything is "hyperdimensional" and is most famous/infamous for his "cities on the moon" and "face on mars" videos. He also thinks that NASA has a hidden cult of Egyptian God worshippers within it. Among other things.

-- Greg Lawrence (greg@speakeasy.org), August 22, 1999.

Andy, how about the guy from Florida who worked for NASA? Says the comet Lee will hit the Atlantic and will cause a tidal wave which will drown everyone from Florida to Georgia. He came here to Ohio,(30 miles from me) and holed up in a cave with 16 guns and lots of provisions. The local Sheriff found him, and sent him back to Florida. The person told the Sheriff he had marital problems, but also told sheriff about the Comet Lee. They let him go.I believe he said the comet was expected in September, 99.

Technician holes up in Ohio cave to escape meteor

Wednesday, August 18, 1999

ASSOCIATED PRESS

CALDWELL - When a Kennedy Space Center computer programmer thought the sky was falling, he headed for a cave in southeast Ohio.

Sheriff's deputies responding to a report of an unfamiliar car found Lloyd Albright, along with camping equipment, dried food and 16 guns, said Noble County Sheriff Landon Smith.

"He very sincerely thought there was a meteor that was going to hit the Atlantic Ocean and cause a tidal wave 200 feet high," Smith said. "He was trying to hide from this meteor. It was going to go up the coast, take Florida for sure and there would be water all over Georgia. The peach trees were going to be covered up."

Albright was found the evening of Aug. 10. He thought the meteor was going to hit at 4 a.m. the next day and had been in the cave since at least Aug. 8, Smith said yesterday.

"I thought it was kind of amazing that he was enough of a believer and had enough of a fear that he was willing to come north to get away from it," Smith said. Smith said finding Albright's car, which was filled with guns and ammunition, led deputies to search nearby woods. The guns were legal, Smith said, but raised concerns that someone might be in danger.

After heading down two steep embankments, deputies found Albright in a cave 20 feet deep.

Albright had been sleeping on a cot, drinking water that dripped through the cave ceiling and keeping food cold in a pool of water.

He was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct, then released after posting bond following a night in the County Jail, Smith said. He was escorted to the interstate and told to head home.

I fail to see why he was arrested - is this a police state??? [andy]

"He was nothing but pleasant and easy to get along with," said Smith, who added that Albright selected Ohio as a refuge because he had visited the state once before.

Albright, 47, who works on space shuttle data processing, said he was thankful for Smith's help.

Albright said the meteor strike, from fragments of Comet Lee, could occur any time within nine years.

NASA said the closest Comet Lee would come to Earth is 77 million miles by the end of September.

Earth battered through history by comets

Researchers say impacts caused global crises, mass extinctions

BY ROBERT S. BOYD

Mercury News Washington Bureau

``My name is Ozymandias, king of kings,

Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair.

Nothing beside remains. Round the decay

Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,

The lone and level sands stretch far away.''

-- Percy Bysshe Shelley

WASHINGTON -- Recent scientific discoveries are shedding new light on why great empires such as Egypt, Babylon and Rome fell apart, giving way to the periodic ``dark ages'' that punctuate human history.

At least five times during the last 6,000 years, major environmental calamities undermined civilizations around the world. Some researchers say these disasters appear to be linked to collisions with comets or fragments of comets like the one that broke apart and smashed spectacularly into Jupiter five years ago this summer.

The impacts, yielding many megatons of explosive energy, produced vast clouds of smoke and dust that circled the globe for years, dimming the sun, driving down temperatures and sowing hunger, disease and death.

Warning for future

The discoveries are changing the way scientists and historians look at the past -- and offer a warning about what might happen to our planet in centuries to come.

The last such global crisis occurred between AD 530 and 540 -- at the beginning of the Dark Ages in Europe -- when Earth was pummeled by a swarm of cosmic debris.

In a forthcoming book, ``Catastrophe, the Day the Sun Went Out,'' British historian David Keys describes a two-year-long winter that began in AD 535. Trees from California to Ireland to Siberia stopped growing. Crops failed. Plague and famine decimated Italy, China and the Middle East.

Keys quotes the writings of a sixth-century Syrian bishop, John of Ephesus: ``The sun became dark. . . . Each day it shone for about four hours and still this light was only a feeble shadow.'' A contemporary Italian historian, Flavius Cassiodorus, wrote: ``We marvel to see no shadows of our bodies at noon. We have summer without heat.'' And a contemporary Chinese chronicler reported, ``Yellow dust rained like snow.''

Researchers say similar environmental calamities occurred around 3200 B.C., 2300 B.C., 1628 B.C. and 1159 B.C. Each led to the collapse of urban societies in widely scattered portions of the globe.

Destructive as they were, the natural disasters that have plagued Earth since the dawn of human civilization are but popguns compared with the truly titanic catastrophes of prehistoric eras.

Learning from fossils

There have been at least five of these monster events, each of which wiped out most of the creatures living at the time, the fossil record shows.

The best known was a six-mile-wide meteor that smashed into what is now the Gulf of Mexico 65 million years ago. The collision wreathed the planet in clouds of dust, poisoned the atmosphere and drove the dinosaurs, then rulers of the Earth, into extinction. Traces of the enormous crater, at least 100 miles across, created by the impact were found in 1990.

Even that wasn't the biggest blow the Earth has suffered. The mother of all extinctions, which wiped out 90 percent of living species, happened about 245 million years ago. Paleontologists say other mass extinctions occurred about 214 million, 360 million and 440 million years ago.

Although the evidence is debated, a growing number of researchers contend that most, if not all, of these ecological disasters are connected to bombardments from space.

``Recent evidence is converging on the conclusion that mass extinctions coincided with comet or asteroid impacts, and that periodic comet showers, triggered by the solar system's motions through the Milky Way galaxy, may provide a general theory to explain impact-related mass extinctions,'' said Michael Rampino, a geologist at New York University.

``After an impact, the dense dust cloud that is created by the impact spreads through the atmosphere, cuts out sunlight,'' Rampino said. ``This stops photosynthesis and causes the climate to get cold and dark, leading to the mass extinction of large numbers of organisms.''

These disasters, while terrible for their victims, opened the way for the survivors to flourish, diversify and -- for humans -- take over the world.

``We mammals may owe our pre-eminent position atop the Earth's food chain to a collision some 65 million years ago that wiped out most of our competition, including the dinosaurs,'' said Donald Yeomans, a NASA astronomer who tracks comets and asteroids.

These discoveries are lending weight to a revised theory of evolution. Instead of proceeding gradually by a series of tiny changes, as Charles Darwin proposed 140 years ago, life developed in a series of starts and stops, biologists now believe. They call it ``punctuated evolution,'' periods of slow development interrupted by wholesale extinctions and recoveries.

``It may take millions of years, but as the new organisms fill all the new niches that were emptied out, a whole new biosphere is created,'' Rampino explained.

Evidence supporting this catastrophic theory of evolution is accumulating from many sources:

Studies of oak and pine tree rings in Europe and North America provide a year-by-year chronology of good times and bad dating back 5,000 years. Extremely narrow growth rings are testimony to environmental setbacks that coincide with human catastrophes.

Ice cores recently pulled out of glaciers in Greenland and Antarctica preserve a record of environmental changes over the last 400,000 years.

Deep ocean drilling and surveys on land have detected more than 150 impact craters -- like the mile-wide Meteor Crater in Arizona -- demonstrating that Earth has been the target of frequent bombardment from space. Three or four craters are discovered each year, and many more are thought to be buried underground or in the sea.

Quiet period now

NASA and the Air Force are searching for comets and asteroids that might be on a collision course with our planet. Fortunately, nothing of a dangerous size -- arbitrarily defined as more than a kilometer (0.6 miles) in diameter -- has been spotted heading our way for at least a century. But astronomers say a major impact is inevitable. ``Earth is currently enjoying a quiescent period,'' said Robert Shoch, a Boston University geologist. ``But around 2200 AD, it is likely that a new flow of comet fragments will enter Earth-crossing orbits and pose a real threat to our planet.''

Obviously, the bigger the object and the faster it travels, the more damage it causes. A direct hit is not required; simply passing through one of the streams of cosmic rubble littering the inner solar system can have unpleasant consequences.

The civilization-shattering events of the historic era ``must have been near misses, because if we had been hit by a full-blown comet in the past 10,000 years or so, we wouldn't be here today,'' said Mike Baillie, a British archaeologist who studies tree rings.

this is a real question (for students of the bible--you non-believers read ahead) -- if this article were true, you'd think there would also be some mention of these events in the bible since, of course, it was written by those alive at the time (and archaeology seems to be proving the bible's veracity with each new shovel that is dug). we see evidence of the flood and of some celestial events to come. but do you see any other events that might concur with this article? thanks.

Thanks, Andy. I was just wondering why they didn't lock this guy up.

-- Betty Alice (Barn266@aol.com), August 22, 1999.

it will take me forever to get through that link--however i shall attempt. i am never surprised by anything with regards to aliens, the occult, etc. bible says very clearly there is a whole spriritual realm with princes and principalities that rule over earthly events--at least for now until God redeems the earth back and gives it to HIS SON.

(i believe aliens and other gods/goddesses (note their physical characteristics and horrible behaviors) are actually demons manifesting themselves and deceiving people/preoccupying them with lies and evil acts) i believe we will, during the final days as described in revelation, see many supernatural events and i truly believe the supernatural will become more "evident" and evil acts more "blatant" at the end--i think we are beginning to witness this.

i also believe that we are seeing a strong demonic influence in well-known people in the government, entertainment industry, financial sector, etc. (john mcarthur (www.gty.com) in his most excellent tape series on "God, Satan, and the Angels" (i recommend it heartily if you want to learn the truth about good/bad angels, god and satan) shared an interesting story regarding a member of his congregation that has prior experience with a powerful, elite group of people, some of whom are actually indwelt by demons -- one of them is a high-level UN official who is indwelt by the demon that controls America -- why am I not surprised?!!) i also believe that demonic influence is involved with the most recent murders that are making headlines--note the "occult involvement" of the perpetrators and their frequent targets (christians).

anyway, what a total drag it is to focus so on the evil/negative side--i think I have had enough for the day, I like the light and love of the gospel and Christ. I think I will get dressed and go to church.

oh, i forgot, it doesn't seem like this link answered my question about the historical events being in the bible. i am still waiting.

-- tt (cuddluppy@ohmygoodness.com), August 22, 1999.

tt, The Bible's veracity is being proved all the time. Only not the multi-translated version most everyone reads, but the Bible as written in its original text, as Zecharia Sitchin has proved in his books The Earth Chronicles.

I saw an archaeology show on TV the other night that backed up more of his research. . All of his work is taken directly from hundreds of thousands of ancient tablets, most from Sumer, and most of which are stored by the British Museum. Nor does Sitchin work in a vacuum; he works in conjunction with scholars in every field of historical research.

I who was raised a Christian, but got tired of hearing the Biblical hell fire and brimstone and rejected the whole thing, have now come to view the Bible as a great historical record, but with lots of errors, by those who translated and *interpreted* the original texts, and who did not have access to the original tablets, nor even know they existed.

Richard if you're out there, jump right in.

Andy- what do you make of all of this?? I don't understand the idea of any sort of "deliberate" placement of objects into space to strike at us- at not least by earthlings. I can definitely believe that there areobjects up there with the potential to do so in the near future and that is being withheld from us. If so- if you think about it- what possible use could it be to put out a warning to the world? How on earth would you manage to relocate all of those potentially immediately affected and sustain them thru what was to come anyway? And the sheer realization of what was to occur would send the world population reeling- total anarchy would result- a hellhole would exist even before any impact. No- if this is to occur- best it just happen out of the clear blue sky IMO. BTW- the best prep for such a thing as this would be similar to what one would need to do in terms of preps for any sort of long disaster. Of course- it wouldn'ty do you much good were you to live in an impact area or a coastal or lowlying location of course-

Hi farmer,

Hoagland's theory is that NASA are run by a peculiar bunch of illuminati types who adhere to strict ritualistic and astrological and mathematical (e.g. 33 degrees always cropping up, equates to a 33rd degree freemason - allegedly the highest you can go...) precepts - he also believes that this group are able to operate hyper- dimentionally, that they have been able to harness these objects and "give them a nudge" so to speak towards mother earth...

I've an idea why, best do a little more research farmer on the Hoagland site... it's to do with the second coming (a fake one), etc. etc. - the ushering in of a NWO...

Response to No Spam - what do you make of this meteor impact "conspiracy"???

To the person (?tt) who believes UFOs to be demonic, check out Watcher's website (Do search on cydonia & watcher), one of the most imaginative sites on the web: he shares your belief and has enumerated a rather bizarre end-time scenario based on his understanding of scripture (another reason it's best to stick with the Magisterium). Anyway, you might get a kick out of some of his articles. As might you, Andy, despite your being a known MI6 operative, and adept of Babylon.

-- Spidey (in@jam.commie), August 22, 1999.

Andy- I'm confused- who is Hoagland and what is his site? And does this imply , by what you just said, that you believe that NASA is run by this sort of people?? Does sound somehwat strange to me- too organized for our govt IMHO as well. I would doubt, personally, that there was any conspiracy to nudge space rocks closer to the earth- but the idea that they are out there, coming closer, and could impact us- yes- i could buy that. and the notion that our govt knows this- and will withhold the info- yes- most definitely.

Actually- I know that it sounds nutty to believe in this sort of stuff- and I have never read Nostradamus or the others who are mentioned here- have only recently heard of them actually-duh- but- I have been concerned by the lack of info on the new comet-Lee- and anything involving it. Can't believe that our govt is just concerned that another dozen or so kooks are gonna cut off their testicles and put plastic bags over their heads if it makes the news....

And since- as i mentioned several months ago- the timing of lee and what it looks like fits in with some info i received last Fall- I have reason to disbelieve the govt spin on it and am cautious as to what is up with it. It doesn't mean I will believe every prophecy site or "rumormonger' that provides a hot tip- but I am being watchful- y2k may not be much of anything in comparison if any of this were to transpire-

would enjoy hearing more on this subject- and while it may seem OT- interms of preps- it is very much On Topic.

Hey Andy,

Remember this exchange we had last May?

Mike,

I appreciate your response. You are correct. I can not guarantee that you will not lose money in the bank. I also can not guarantee that an asteroid won't collide with the earth and wipe out civilization. But that doesn't mean I'm going to build a shelter 20 feet underground and stock up on enough food to last me twenty years.

There are no guarantees in life--only probabilities. I believe the probability of being robbed of my money after withdrawing it from the bank is higher than the probability of losing it by keeping it in the bank.

Do people lose money from fires and robbery?

All the time!

Has anyone ever lost a cent in an FDIC insured account?

Never!

So Andy, here's the true test of whether you really believe in "Prepare for the worst and hope for the best." Are you going to move five years of food and necessities into a cave so you can survive the imminent meteor impact? How about ten years?

I've said all along that the "Prepare for the worst" phrase is a bit simplistic. It seems correct at first glance, but that it is better to do a cost/benefit analysis and prepare for the worst likely outcome by expending resources based on the likelihood and the probable severity of the impact.

-- Robin S. Messing (rsm7@cornell.edu), August 22, 1999.

Robin- interesting thought. similar to the conversation I had earlier today with my partner. We were discussing the "what if" scenario- you know- what if there was a meteor(s) strike, etc- now if we thought that there was a really good chance of one happening soon- why we should go max out the credit cards, buy anything we could possibly use and hunker down and see if we make it thru the impact- but- of course- if that doesn't occur- the hit- I've got maxed out credit cards, etc-

realized that this is sort of what many people have been facing decision wise with y2k- I haven't had to do much different for y2k- given our lifestyle/location. And the preps I've done- can be easily eaten/used in the near future- but preps for a serious asteroid strike- a whole new kettle of fish there. Now you'd be talking serious amounts of food/fuel/meds, etc- the true TEOTWAWKI scenario- which I haven't forseen for y2k btw.And for those in coastal/lowlying areas- relocation issues- well- a strike in Manitoba would be iffy for us as it is-might or might not make it thru that- alwful close.....

so- is an interesting thought exercise- if you truly believe such a thing is likely and serious- do you wipe out the IRA, max out the plastic and go for it?? Guess I'd have to be like those sorta GI y2k types who say they're gonna be watching and waiting for a sign- and then they'll start stocking up/cash out of the market, etc.... at least for now- could change my mind either way with new info-

-- farmer (hillsidefarm@drbs.net), August 22, 1999.

Nobody can prepare for the worst -- our Sun going nova -- the ultimate TEOTWAWKI.

(Current thinking places this event several billion years in the future.)

"There are many false prophets that have gone out into the world." Be careful of who you listen to. Only One claimed to be the Way, the Truth and the Life." Either He is God or the biggest deceiver ever.

Today I preached on Revelation 1. I plan to help my people understand what the Son of God revealed about the future in the last book.

I recognize there are differences in the Christian community about the interpretations of the 7 trumpets. My favorite professors spiritualized them and did not take them literally. I say this as background for the flaming differences sure to follow this post. In my very humble understanding, I think they are literal events.

The first trumpet: Revelation 8:7 "One third of the trees and green grass burned by fire." CME's, unusual sun activity? The most severe sun activity in history is just upon us.

The second trumpet: "A great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea." A third of the ships, sea creatures, and ocean life was destroyed." Sounds like a meteor, asteroid, or comet to me.

The third trumpet: "A great star fell from heaven, burning like a lamp, fell on the earth and poisoned a third of the fresh waters of the earth. The name of the star is wormwood." Could be a large meteorite, or nuclear bombs. Chernobyl in Russia means "wormwood".

The fourth trumpet: "One third of the sun, moon and stars were darkened, and gave not their light." Again, the result of a meteorite strike, or huge volcanos that darkens the sky.

Notice that these destructions are described as judgments of God upon the world for rejecting Him, the Creator of our wonderful world. They are described as trumpets, because these destructions are warning the world to repent and believe in the good news about His Son Jesus Christ. John 3:16

Satan knows the Bible better than us. He shares these truths with false prophets so people will listen to their false gospels. "Beware of false prophets and christs. Do not be deceived," Jesus warned us.

Sincerely, Pastor BB

Gilda, I am so sorry about your early experience. I too, did not have the proper introduction to God or His Son. When I returned from Nam, at 23, a friend told me that God loved me. It flooded over me and I've never been the same since. Knowing God's love is the greatest thing you will ever know on the earth! It is a great love, greater than any love we will ever find on earth. He loves each one of us, He really does.

BTW, saw a great special on the TLC on Samuel Clemens and his stories of Sawyer and Finn, my childhood heroes. : )

Richard Hoagland's "The Enterprise Mission": comets, meteors, NASA conspiracies...

http://www.enterprisemission. com/

-- mabel (mabel_louise@yahoo.com), August 22, 1999.

Biographical Information

Richard C. Hoagland is a former museum space science Curator; a former NASA Consultant; and, during the historic Apollo Missions to the Moon, was science advisor to Walter Cronkite and CBS News. In the mid-1960's, at the age of 19 (possibly "the youngest museum curator in the country at the time"), Hoagland created his first elaborate commemorative event -- around NASA's first historic unmanned fly-by of the planet Mars, Mariner 4. A simultaneous all-night, transcontinental radio program the evening of the Encounter (linking the museum in Springfield, Mass., and NASA's JPL control center, in Pasadena, Ca.), co-produced by Hoagland and WTIC-Radio, in Hartford, Ct., was subsequently nominated for a Peabody Award, one of journalism's most prestigious.

In the early 1970's, Hoagland proposed to Carl Sagan (along with Eric Burgess) the placement of a "message to Mankind" aboard Pioneer 10 -- humanity's "first unmanned probe of Jupiter"; subsequent to its 1973 Jovian Encounter, celestial mechanics resulted in Pioneer 10 becoming the first artifact to successfully escape the solar system into the vast Galaxy beyond -- carrying "the Plaque" -- whose origins were officially acknowledged by Sagan in the prestigious journal, SCIENCE (175 [1972], 881).

In the early 1980's, based on NASA data from the more sophisticated unmanned Voyager fly-bys of the outer planets, Hoagland became the first to propose (in a widely-quoted series of UPI and AP stories on his startling paper, published in 1980 in Star & Sky magazine) the possible existence of "deep ocean life" under the global ice shield perpetually surrounding the enigmatic moon of Jupiter, Europa. At the time, most (though not all) NASA scientists instantly derided this idea; two outstanding dissenters from the unfortunately then-common NASA view were Director of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies, Dr. Robert Jastrow, and well-known science writer and visionary, Arthur C. Clarke. In the sequel to his outstanding epic "2001" ("2010: Odyssey Two"), built entirely around this extraordinary concept of "eon-old life in the ice-covered oceans of Europa," Clarke wrote:

"The fascinating idea that there might be life on Europa . . . was first proposed by Richard C. Hoagland [in a 30-page article] in the magazine Star & Sky... This quite brilliant concept has been taken seriously by a number of astronomers (notably NASA's Institute for Space Studies, Dr. Robert Jastrow), and may provide one of the best motives for the projected GALILEO Mission."

Remarkably, before recent NASA press conferences and television documentaries, celebrating the successfully GALILEO probe of Jupiter's atmosphere, December 7, 1995, NASA scientists' "belated" acceptance of the startling possibility of "life in Europa's oceans" has been widely presented and discussed. As is GALILEO's potential acquisition of new data from its upcoming Europa fly-bys which could lead to actual confirmation (!) of the "Hoagland model." Curiously, despite clearly prior publication and detailed elaboration of the concept, Hoagland's name is not being mentioned anywhere by NASA, or by current GALILEO scientists, in connection with "Europa"...

In the early 1990's Mr. Hoagland led a team of volunteers and consultants in the creation of a pioneering "space-age" inner-city educational effort at Dunbar Senior High, just off Capitol Hill, in Washington D.C. The experiment was built around the concept of "student involvement in real time' mission planning and data acquisition" during various NASA planetary exploration missions, such as "Hubble" and the ill-fated "Mars Observer." Starting as an after school extracurricular activity, and using donated state-of-the-art computer imaging equipment and enhancement algorithms, "The Enterprise Mission" and "becoming a crew member of the 'U.S.S. Dunbar'" eventually became an accredited course in the Dunbar school curriculum. Over the years, scores of senior NASA Headquarters and Goddard Space Flight Center personnel have enthusiastically participated in the project, including installation of a student satellite data link direct to NASA and on-site briefing of students on many current NASA projects. Education advocate, then First Lady Barbara Bush, personally came to Dunbar early in the project, for a personal briefing by the students; this -- the original "ENTERPRISE Mission" -- was ultimately nominated for a White House "Point of Light" award.

For the last 13 years, since 1983, Hoagland has been leading an outside scientific Team in a critically acclaimed independent analysis of possible intelligently-designed artifacts on NASA (and other) data sets -- beginning with the unmanned NASA VIKING mission to Mars in 1976, and its provocative images of a region called "Cydonia." Hoagland and his Team have been invited at least four times to various NASA Centers since 1988, to brief thousands of NASA scientists and engineers on the results of their on-going "Cydonia investigation." In 1989, Hoagland and his colleagues briefed then-Chairman of the House Committee on Space Science and Applications, Representative Robert Roe, on the status of their "Mars Investigation." Chairman Roe, before his sudden and unexplained resignation from the Congress, directed NASA to acquire better images from Mars during its then-upcoming "Mars Observer mission"; Mars Observer's equally sudden and tragic disappearance in 1993 precluded any new data relating to "Cydonia." In 1993, Hoagland was awarded the International Angstrom Medal for Excellence in Science by the Angstrom Foundation, in Stockholm, Sweden, for that continuing research. In the last 4 years, he and his Team's investigations have been quietly extended to include over 30 years of previously hidden data from NASA, Soviet, and Pentagon missions to the Moon -- with startling results.

Pastor BB:

Thanks for the link on the study in Revelation. I ordered a copy.

I remember reading Samuel Clemens went into a Christless eternity.

Meteor impact conspiracy? Hmmm...we have possibly two wars brewing in Asia (Taiwan-China-USA) and (North Korea-South Korea-USA) as well as Y2K. In spite of all the pundits, we don't have good answers for any of them. Having said that, you want me to worry about some loopy basket case who thinks NASA is a bunch of freemasons with Egyptian sun gods on video??? Of course there is always somebody spouting prophecies of Nostradamus or some other "prophet". This only clouds the REAL issues that ALL of us confront in these troubled times. Give it a rest, PLEASE!

"You want me to worry about some loopy basket case who thinks NASA is a bunch of freemasons with Egyptian sun gods on video?"

Yes Irving, the next thing you know these damn doomers will try and tell us Carl Sagan was a pothead.

tt is a girl. sorry gilda, but your assertions are wrong about the bible. sorry you had an unfortunate hell fire and brimstone upbringing--that can really do you in. however (and unfortunately i am not one who can remember all the details because i am big picture but i could point you to my sources at least), i have heard some incredible teachings on the historicity, veracity, and accuracy of the bible--and the bible is heads and shoulders above any ancient book when judged according to the standards set for ancient documents. there are more original copies; it has an unbelievably low error rate; whereas archaeologists used to chuckle at the bible, they are now using it as a resource; plus many more reasons.

Hi a, LOL!,

Yeah I read that about Sagan yesterday too.

By the way folks, this was a serious question to our resident astronomer No Spam.

As for my belief in all this, I've said time and time again - this is a "forum" - a means of exchanging ideas and information... weird as it seems a lot of Ickes's theories seem to co-incide with those of our esteemed Messrs. Hoagland and Bara - although I'm sure they don't know each other. Or maybe they do.

I'm playing devil's advocate here - just because I cut and paste something in does NOT nescessarily mean I believe it...

OK Robin? Got it now have we? 5 years???? Sheesh!

There's a site on the Year Five Billion Y5B "problem", by the way. The one where the sun burns out....it's side splitting reading.

If you haven't already happened upon it,...a must read!

Andy,

Upon perusing the page at http://www.enterprisemission.com/call.html and some of the referenced links, I find a bunch of nonsense similar to much of that set forth for Comet Lee and the August 11 eclipse. There are misleading partial truths and pseudoscientific falsities.

I don't have the software needed to view the CNN eclipse video to which the article refers, so can't say much about the likely nature of "the 3 objects seen on the CNN eclipse video." They could be video imperfections, internal lens reflections, CMEs, stars, or many other possible things.

The placement of the image depicting a sizable object striking Earth leads me to deduce that the author wants readers to believe that the "3 objects" are large enough to cause some noticeable damage when they "strike the Earth on November 7th". However, I don't see any mention of size or extent of damage (other than "planned disaster") in the text -- did I miss something? I hope you are all aware that millions of objects strike the Earth every day anyway -- we call them meteors, and very few ever land and cause noticeable damage. Does the author want you to think that the "3 objects" mentioned in the article are more than grain-of-sand sized?

Thanks No Spam,

Pity you could not peruse the three objects, feint though they were. This is as you say probably a load of twaddle but I'll keep my eye out for any developments. Hoagland is also of the mind that TV series such as the X-Files and Millennium, as well as movies like Deep Impact and Asteroid are in a circuitous route priming the population for an "event"...

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), August 23, 1999.

Andy, Sherman Skolnick was saying the same things during the sixties, he believed the TriLateral Commision was in cahoots with Hollywood and the "Aliens" to prepare the population for the Govt to reveal their existence.

Sherman has always been entertaining, it's unfortunate that a man with Hoaglands credentials seems to have stripped a gear somewhere.

-- Chief (bmc@sealres.chitown), August 23, 1999.

Whooa, I like to listen to Skolnick, didn't know he was into that sort of thing at all...

Ya never know Chief, they both just might be right ... ;)
