Brazilian real leads Latam currencies' fall
By Andrei Khalip

SAO PAULO, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Brazil's plunging real led Latin Amercian currencies down on Friday, amid fears of an Ecuadorean default and an Argentine debt rating downgrade which could provoke a domino effect in the already unstable, crisis-racked region.

As most currencies headed down, Moody's announcement that it might downgrade Argentine debt and bank deposit ratings only contributed to the vicious circle of mutual impacts between Latin American economies.

``It started with our domestic political woes and Ecuador yesterday and today, but now it is Argentina affecting the real more. It is a whole vicious circle where one is hitting another, and it keeps going on and on,'' said one Sao Paulo trader.

He added that a weaker real would affect the trade balance of Brazil's biggest trade partner Argentina, causing more problems in the
recession-ridden country, which is fighting hard to keep its peso-dollar peg.

The real (BRBY - news) extended losses on Friday, tumbling 2.9 percent to 1.995 per dollar in what traders called panicky trade on continuing concerns over the domestic political situation and neighboring Latin American economies.

+++++

Its only a matter of time before the house of cards collapses.  The inherrently dishonest banking systems will inevitably collapse.

Any Swedish mud-wrestling pictures?

Milnes' right on the money, just a matter of time...

Last year, about this time, he predicted that the cards would already have fallen by the middle of THIS year. Aren't we ALREADY beyond the middle of this year?

"Like I posted here a long time ago, by the middle of next year there isn't going to be anything left. It is wildly out of control and there is NOTHING that is going to stop it this time. The consequences of absurd banking practices are coming home to roost. It is all over but the crying." 08/25/1998 prediction

"By the middle of next year the world's financial systems will have been destroyed." 08/16/1998 prediction

Anita - are you *remotely* aware of the world financial systems' woes at this point in time? I'm not going to go into specifics now, but the fact is that Milne is right, I'm right, Ray and Gordon gecko are right - the only reason we are here today with the leviathan still lumbering along is due to gross, illegal manipulation by the cabal, the fed, of the markets. Include Greenscum as one of the chief culprits.

I fail to see how you could support this ponzi scheme and take delight in pointing out that Milne was premature in his assessment. That's simply not the case - how do you factor in fraud, laundering, bailouts, the plunge protection team etc? You can't - Milne is STILL right on the money.

JUST A MATTER OF TIME - the time will COME when the piper needs to be paid Anita.

Same goes for y2k in the USA and the reason for lack of awareness - the chief culprit is Clinton - gross and with malice aforethought dereliction of duty.

Please check out the "Gartner Group Final Report" thread Anita.

Take care

Andy, Im so impressed with all the facts that you have in your statement. I love how you prove that everything is a conspiracy to keep the market up. I spent hours reading what you wrote, its just beyond comprehension that you could do so much research.

Now I will post a response to you in the same way you support your own opinion.

Milne was wrong. He is always wrong. The markets of the worlds are still running and thats because they still are. People still base their faith in a currency based economy, rather than a TP barter society.

Pheewww, that sure was tough.

Anita, I also believed last year by this time it would be all over.Greedspan and the boy blunder Rubin pulled the last ace out of their sleeves. Adding much more gas to the simmering fire about to explode, buying some time regardless of the price(just enough for Rubin to leave). What will be the trigger?Remains to be seen, when it happens the dominoes will start falling one by one at lightning speed.Rest assured it will happen there is no turning back. They (Greedspan and co.) have buried us so deep in debt and shenanigans, there is no hope for a good ending. When it starts u will unerstand.Y2K will only be the final nail on the coffin.Y2K(rollover) in my opinion will be anticlimatic.

In answer to mr. Way Cool.... who said...

Milne was wrong. He is always wrong.

Yeah, I hear that in Sweden the girls mudwrestle NAKED!!! Gawd, I'd love to find a Swedish mudwrestling video, but I can't seem to. The European girls wrestle naked too, but unfortunately the hairy armpits and legs of some of those girls really detracts.

I guess I'll stick to California wrestling girls....

Almost all companies and the government said they would be compliant by the end of 1998 with a year for testing.

Anita, just about everyone has been wrong at some point in this debacle.

King of Spain: Have you tried Muslim girls? I hear they wax EVERYTHING off.

Andy -- you forgot to mention the banks' enormous exposures in derivatives.

King, please do draw a line between funny and vulgar. I try to print and distribute relevant threads which might help DGIs and newbies, and I cannot do that when posts like this one of yours appears. Thanks!
