I wonder what the outcome of this meeting will be? Link

State officials overseeing California's efforts to avoid problems stemming from possible year 2000 computer glitches will be on hand Thursday in Pasadena to discuss their work. The participants will discuss plans to position state employees in cities across the world to monitor possible regional computer snafus as different time zones hit midnight Jan. 1. Computer experts fear systems could malfunction if their internal clocks read the year 2000 as 1900. Officials, including the state's top computer systems manager and Gov. Gray Davis' chief advisor on the calendar rollover issue, will also talk about efforts to test the viability of connections between state and local computer systems. The presentation, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Pasadena Convention Center, is part of the Southern California Executive Leadership Forum.

I keep reading this kind of statements, and I conclude that this has to be an erroneous statement. Everyone knows that the only people who fear this are us doomers on this forum. Otherwise, our resident polly's would be corresponding with these fearmongers, and giving them what for, just like they do us. Since I am fairly certain that no such correspondese is taking place, these statements could'nt possibly have been made.

However, in case I am wrong, I fully expect Y2KPro, and crew to mount an assault, and set these nutball computer experts straight.

Pro,Craig, Poole (oops, I forgot, haven't seen much of you since your little faux pas), Maria (oops, I forgot, haven't seen much of you lately, you little MCI fixer upper)and all you other wonderful warriors, you will keep us posted, won't you?
