Pollies & Doomers Unite---Against the Media

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

If you're like me, you're tired and amazed, by all the stories(most notably the ABA scripted sermons) that we see, but never get told on the nightly news.

Lets do something about it:--- News programs here in seattle give email addresses to send story ideas to-- Whomever posts a story, confirmed(from several sources)-- post a place to email your wish to see the story on the local news in the posters area.

i'm in seattle.---- I want people to see the ABA story-- here's channel 5 in seattle's email:

Tell them you think they should show this story(how you feel about it is up to you, but the story is Definitely newsworthy)

thanks.

Absolutely Not!!!

I only want to hear that which confirms my belief system. Anything else is obviously incorrect.

apologies to those who actually did send an email, but it appears i was mistaken about some people here. There are at least 25 to 30 people here, and I actually thought people were here to try to make a change for the better. even pollies agree taht people should be aware, and what better way, than to bombard the media with information we feel is important. but I guess the armchair, monday morning quarterback position is a lot easier.....

Super:

It appears that "Super Polly" is a doomer who is making fun of pollys. Probably just a joke. That aside, my guess is that many people would be hesitant to join your idea because they don't want to be maligned as paranoid radicals who expect the end of civilized humanity. People who see a need to make sensible preparations have been characterized as such, even though most of them don't believe most of the more pessimistic predictions. Since information regarding the severity and scope of Y2K is still inconclusive and probably will be until 1/1/2000, people who are preparing will still be vulnerable to the epithets of others who don't believe Y2K is a problem.

I don't believe that it will be the end of the world, but I am setting aside extra supplies in case they are needed. :)

Cynic:

Up yours. In a few months I will be laughing uncontrollably as doomer dimwits like yourself are selling your prep supplies at pennies on the dollar. HAHAHAHA!!!!

Super Polly:

To be sure, I can't guarantee that I will need my supplies. But if I do, 'doomer dimwits' such as I will be laughing at you as you knock on our doors for help.

Not to be cruel, but if such an event were to occur, I will politely direct you to the nearest GARBAGE CAN. Ha!

Regards

I usually don't bother to answer Polly stupidity, but this time I will say one thing only: anyone wise enough to purchase Y2K preps is also wise enough to know that to keep them is wise as well...today's world is so uncertain that preparedness as a lifestyle shows great prudence. Know what your post shows????

Well do I have a real hoot for you. My wife and I decided that if this all turns out to be one big fizzle, we are going to "GIVE" all our supplies away to the local food bank and homeless shelter.

We wont get anything for it. What dimwits we are. HA.HA.HA.
