I predicted this earthquake. See the thread "The earth will move in great force in the next 10 days." I predicted that there would be a 5.5-6.5 earthquake on the San Andreas Fault, Hayward. The earthquake happened just 25 miles from Hayward. Actually, my dog and cat predicted it, I just payed attention. Have the news on, they are expecting another after shock of a magnitude of at least 4.5 and possibly a stronger quake to follow. Just in! Preliminary...5.0 located on the San Andreas Fault, KGO Radio 810-San Francisco. Bart is down. Broken windows in Bolinas, some damage. No reports of injuries.

Daughter just called scared! Chat later....I will given another prediction before 12:00 p.m. stay tuned.

Moderate Quake Hits Northern Calif.

BOLINAS, Calif. (AP) -- A moderate earthquake rocked this Northern California town Tuesday evening, swaying office buildings in San Francisco and rattling homes 50 miles south in San Jose.

The quake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.0 happened at 6:06 p.m. near the San Andreas Fault about 10 miles southwest of San Rafael, said U.S. Geological Survey spokesman Dale Cox.

No injuries or damage were immediately reported.

Bolinas is about 20 miles north of San Francisco.

The quake rocked cars and made streetlights swing in San Francisco's Sunset district. Items fell off shelves and people 15 miles south of San Francisco said it felt like a heavy truck rumbling by.

``It was very quick, five or six seconds at the most,'' said Graham Church, an assistant manager at a San Francisco gas station. ``It was pretty sharp, pretty severe.''

No kidding you said your dog told you of the quake. C-mon man you were just trolling the thread and got lucky.

I read the Whole thing and St. Frncis started the whole thing and hung in there even revising.

Don't try this now!

Johnny--He didn't name names, I did. And as far as my dog goes, he loes me!

We are fine, it wasn't very noticable here.

I'll take my chances with tornados, thank you very much........

Hope everyone is present and accounted for! I've had a feeling of 'dread' since I got up this morning, most unlike me to be so down and gloomy. I'm usually such a happy Doomer. :)

Apparently there are about 19 global earthquakes a year aboe 7.0. This year we have had nine so far, so that is even statistically low.

I don't know how accurate the Washington University Siesmic listings are but I counted 14 earth quakes over 7.0 in the last *two* months. Maybe I'm missing something
