The new Taepodong II missile will have a range of up t/o /4,163 miles, w/hich would put Alaska and Hawaii within reach, Chun said...North Korea, which has little contact with the rest of the world, reportedly maintains a vigorous defense program despite a slumping economy and widespread food shortages. Answers

North Korea will most likely launch, it is part of a big ceremony they are going trough this week. I have a feeling it will be very soon and not in 3-4 weeks.

If they do a launch, thats ok, but keep it away from Japan. Every country has to flex its muscles, like it or not.

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I know someone will) but isn't 9/9/99 some kind of special day in Korea?

As an informative aside ONLY, I will mention a Dames insight on Korea, as given August 12 on the Art Bell show.

Soon, North Korea will launch one of their missles to the east with a nuclear warhead and explode it in the air. This will be 'nuclear blackmail' allowing for North Korea to get and 'gain' what it needs from the international community.

It supposedly does not have the nuclear warpower to go into a showdown with a superpower.

I found this intriguing. We will see.
