John, Took a good look at your web site. Enjoyed the size of your thumbnail prints but thought the opening page with the chrome pillars was a bit flashy. It's not needed! I can see that your working hard at making photographs and I can also see that your somewhat new at doing so also. Keep up the work for you'll find a vision that is yours as you grow.

John, You've got some nice images there. I have to agree, however, that the opening pillars are just too much! My only two criticisms are that many of the shots are too "centered" for my tastes. Not enough leading the eye to some point of interest away from the middle. This can certainly be a style, but it gets old after a very short period. The other issue is tonal quality. It's hard to judge on the monitor, but some of the images could use more contrast, maybe some bleach, or just a better day. I live in a generally gray place, so I'm probably too sensitive to this. For instance, a bit of fill flash on the vines under the pillar would liven it up. Still, they're better than most of what I shoot!
