Good luck, James. At least you have skills. Some of us (moi) just have literacy.

Spooling up to a new mindset ain't easy. Your "Learn today." speaks well but would caution that your ability to *sift* information will be tested as never before. Welcome aboard.

Mr Miller

I well know the feeling of sadness you have,I to am an electrican by trade. My love was/is the power generation complexes. I know that their center cannot hold. Too many now have folded for me to old out any hope that the majority can hold.

With a deep sadness last fall I realized that neither I nor any one else could prevent their fate. There was simply not enough time left.

But it is not an end, but the beginning. For electricans will be needed the most to re-patch the systems, once order is restored, so that the computers can once again advance our civilzation forward. But the pain terror and suffering which first must occur, causes pause to any optimisum that I might feel.

Troll alert........obviously not much conviction with what they believe or else just plain trolling.....scared to even use a real email address and name...........

Strike 3.......You're outa here!

Mr. Miller

On second thought, you being an electrican..I have been working out a cap. (static) charger design. Which would power a house, using inverters on a battery bank system. The thing does work (builds up a charge like a high tension line) and has no moving parts and uses no fuel. Too bad This webby does not have graphics ability. But being an electrican you can follow a word description. The charging screensare comprised or chicken wire hung up like a volley ball net using ceramic insulators to tis off to. The design encorporates 6 screens strung out on 4 poles...The design is in a "Y" shape. string three of the screens to make the "Y" then string three screens between the outside posts. With the posts 30' apart and using chicken wire which is two feet wide, we estimated that there was nearly 8,000' of wire exposed to elements.

At 5-7 miles an hour, the static charge built up into several thousand volts..

But enough for now..Besides I don't want to bore the pollies with a way to go off grid permanetly for vwery little money...Incidently, this method draws heavily on N. Telsa's work.

Craig, how do you know it's a fake name and email?

Craig, this forum does not require self incrimination. You have the right to claim the 5th!!

Hey shaky,

I'm interested in your power set up. You claim it will generate several thousand volts. So what? I can generate that much by rubbing my feet on a nylon carpet, but that doesn't power my house. The key question is how many watts does your wire generate? Watts = power.

Another thing, the amount of THEORETICAL power available is calculable by multiplying the cube of the wind speed hitting your collector minus the cube of the wind speed passing on through the colletor times the area of the collector times a coefficient of performance. Sorry I can't remember the coefficient of performance. Perhaps someone who's studied physics more recently than me (30 years ago).

Anyway, I don't believe there's much power to be had from your design. If I'm wrong, I apologize in advance.

Craig -

Since you're Canadian, you may not have seen many US military e-mail addresses. That one has a valid domain and site. Suffice it to say that Mr. Miller is located about an hour outside DC. Having said that...

Mr. Miller -

I strongly recommend that you avoid using that handle again in a public forum. .MIL sites are far too likely to be monitored. TIA.

Shakey,

If Tesla could not do it, YOU CAN NOT DO IT.

However, there are many reports of people using what is called "Capacitive Coupling" to existing AC feed lines. You have probably heard of the EMF from Power Lines. Yup you can "hook in" to the GRID today, but it is ILLEGAL. And besides. if the Grid goes down.... There will not be any power to steal!

Get with the program!

My Dear Mr Helium

Sir I could not resist you provacative statements..If you will follow the verbal design, and leave it completely in an ungrounded condition and touch it...It'll be a real fast way to reach the happy hunting grounds my friend. To the other gentleman's sincere request; sir when you push this voltage through a step down transformer you'll find that the amperage will go up as the voltage goes down...As for Ohm's law, Sir I sepent 32 years helping to build power generation complexes and know a little about the mathmatics of electrical matters. I offered my thoughts to Mr. Miller, perhaps I should mailed him direct. But I thought that there might be some one here interested. As for your remarks, they are a result of opinions and every one of us has one of those along with another oriface with an equally expansive function.

If any one of you do try this...Be aware! This thing builds up to lethel voltages rather fast in a moderate wind. And astonishingly fast of a stormy day.

My first and last thought is Geezzz try and help some one, and all you get is cat calls from the peanut gallery...LOL Well there is no use for me to describe the rest of the set up...I'll just say that in the above moderate conditions, it worked out that we where getting 20 amp hour plus generation.

Folks, If you subscribe to Cory's listserv you will be familiar with Mr. Miller. His posts on the listserv ring true, and his IP address comes back not available. i suspect it IS just as he suggests it is.
