Doula Certification

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Doula.Com General Discussion : One Thread

Hi, I live in a small community in Oregon and want to become a doula. I have done some research and found that there are a different places to certify. Is there a large difference and which is the best organiztion? Do providers know the difference?

Thank you for any information you can give me.

I think the most important question is which is right for you? All of the organizations hae similar requirements. The most widely known would be DONA and ALACE. Most care proiders certainly don't know them but if they did I bet they'd know DONA- they've done the most work on insurance reimbursement.
