Y2K Movie Cancelled

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

According to the Boston Globe 7/25/99- Warner Bros. has pulled the plug on a y2k movie starring Chris O'Donnell. They said there was concern as to whether people could tell fiction from reality. Peter De Jager is said to have read the script at one point and had "no objection". The storyline was about O'Donnell working as a programmer and finding a bug related to terrorism that could bring NYC to it's knees. Let's see... are we to understand that any movie relating to terrorism, end of the world, psycho people, assasination, aliens, etc. has mentally tortured the populace and made them believe they were gonna die? No? Well then, they must be concerned this looks to much like truth.....or they were TOLD not to make it. You think a Y2K movie will ever be released? Bets?

Guilliani brought us to our knees. I don't see that any worse harm could be inflicted.
