Al-d,

You aren't alone. My thoughts are wandering around the same subjects you raise here. Your post is very timely.

co-incidence? Syncronisity...

I wonder what the climate of thought is like right now overseas with the eclipse soon to come? How will the deeply, deeply religious react? What kinds of shockwaves will the world feel as a result?

Thanks.

Mike

And on a microcosmic level,we need to ask ourselves what kinds of shockwaves will TB2000 feel as a result of Al posting his prophetic ramblings of revelations.

Hi MIKE, yup i got an very un-easy=feeling.too much[prophecy] being fullfilled. something ugly=in the wind. i try to ignore it' but it won,t go away. but then i realize=it,s been a=LONG TIME COMIN,OH WELL I JUST KEEP ASKING him TO help ME BE ready.the temperature is rising. I wasn't exactly KNOCKING your ramblings,Al.I run off at the mouth too much myself to throw those stones.

-- zoobie (zoobiezoob@yahoo.com), August 09, 1999.

Is this the same Al-d that said goodbye just recently? Mike Taylor, your posts have always seemed to be in the best interest of this forum and the stated pertinent subject matter. For you to incourage this idiot is beyond understanding. How can someone like Al-d generate any level of credibility on ANY subject, let alone religion. Moderators, once again please delete the religious ramblings....there are other sites that welcome this subject matter.

Zoobie,

With all due respect, the simple fact is Y2k is a lesson in humility. If people, especially the managers and programmers responsible, cannot see how much y2k has already cost and what it may cost then we deserve what ever comes.

Call it bad karma, call it prophecy of doom, call it what ever you will. The bottom line is that y2k, in and of itself is a self-fulfilling prophecy written in code and hardwired into the depths of our modern human experience. How and why we got to this point is an interesting journey. How and why the problem wasn't fixed 20 years ago and came down to the last second of the last day of the unmovable deadline is also interesting. Maybe it's about time we got a humility check.

It really doesn't matter because I think "status quo" is just urban myth anyway. I don't want things to stay the same, I want them to get better.

As for TB2000, it seems to be doing fine regardless of OT discussions. The really facinating thing is that there are discussion boards where Y2k is off topic and said to be a "hoax" while these types of topics are the norm.

Call it coincidence or what ever that so many have a feeling of distress but I find it really amazing.

Mike

-- mike (mike@wal-mart.com), August 09, 1999.

Michael T,I agree about y2k being an excercise in humility.technology is our latest golden calf.I was refering more to the people who wet themselves with self-rightious rage every time Al posts.Remember,it's the end of the world as we know it,AND I FEEL FINE.You'd think people would be more upbeat about impending doom.sheesh.

-- zoobie (zoobiezoob@yahoo.com), August 09, 1999.

For and others,

Regarding Al-d's post, I don't agree with everything contained within. I don't have to agree with the argument as a whole to understand the underlying sentiment. It was the subject I found to be most interesting. Humility and Y2k, etc.

If I've offended anyone or hurt the forum I'll gladly stop posting. I post because I'm on a journey to insight with a desire to help others. If helping others mean I should stay mute then I have no problem with that at all.

Please feel free to share your views with me and my e-mail address is real.

My very best wishes.

Mike

Someone said that if God allows America to go unpunished, He owes Sodom and Gommorrah an apology. We are LONG overdue for a spanking. Personal baby boomer theory; our folks lived thru the Depression, fought in a war or two, worked their hearts out to go to school on the GI bill, to get a good job and buy that dream house from the city tenements, and said, "Dammit! MY kid is never gonna want for anything!" And made us the biggest bunch of spoiled brats since the Roman Empire. Bill Clinton is exactly what we deserve. Unfortunately, he is US...yeah, all of us!...in a mirror. And now I think I will be sick at what has happened to this country of ours.

-- Mr. Mike (mikeabn@aol.com), August 09, 1999.

Let Al-D have his say.

-- Daryll (twinck@wfeca.net), August 09, 1999.

Sodom and Gommorrah were nuked according to Sitchin (by a troublemaker self-righteous "god" [one of many] called Yahweh). There is still lingering radioactivity in the area. Y2K by itself should be more than sufficient for "cleansing." Of course, there is Bin Laden, N. Korea, and Red China who now could do the "god" thing, also.

Sorry, gang. Half of you are out of line. Which half? The fact that the thread is still here should answer that. Mike T: Stop posting and I'll have to send both DeITer and Deedah after you, and you wouldn't want that, now, would you?? Chuck

BTW This is NOT a blanket endorsement of Al's posts, as I have removed one or two that did not make the grade. This happens to be apropriate to a little deeper thought than knee jerking. C

A,

You wrote>>"Sodom and Gommorrah were nuked according to Sitchin"

Do you know of any links to info on that, on the web?

OT. Best quote I read today>>

apokoliptik--love your name. your spelling makes me think someone ought to create a new shade of lipstick in honor of Y2K--green and named "apokolipstick" hey, is "yabba dabba do" close enough for tongues? actually i am a believer--y2k and Christ.

however, back to the subject--just take a gander at what we are doing in this country and tell me WE DON'T DESERVE JUDGMENT. God has the patience of a SAINT for waiting this long....lets see. Right at the top of my list are some of our more recent science experiments--the "big bang" machine at Brookings Institute in NY; how about the "terminator" by Monsanto; uh, the cow/people cloning experiments happening in NY; our current administration's immoral alliances that are destroying the sovereignty of a nation that was clearly an outcome of God's efforts; the abortion rate; television (i thought that would be a good one--that alone warrants total annihilation); the current UN efforts to create a one world religion. just for starters.

god is loving. but he is also holy (can't tolerate sin) and just (you have to reap what you sow). so, don't you think its time? steve farrar in his book "spiritual survival during the y2k crisis" says, "the fingerprints of God are all over Y2K." i think so.

-- td (cuddluppy@yahoo.com), August 10, 1999.

R. Wright: Sitchin's book mentioned above has the "nuking" of Sodom... by Yahweh. (Quite detailed description of dealing with Abraham and Lot.) Sitchin has a web site, but I haven't looked for that specificially on it. (http://www.sitchin.com). The description of the god (one of many gods) "Yahweh" was from a review of the book on Amazon.com.

I've just started reading Sitchin's stuff and one of the loose ends is that (I gather) "Yahweh" is a rogue "god" -- I haven't seen the geneology in Sitchin yet. He has no more powers (technology) than the other gods of the time (about 2000 B.C.), or preceding him, yet Sitchin seems to write about him differently than the others.

Thanks Chuck!

I'm not sure but I believe Sitchin did a lot of research using the Sumarian [sp?] Tablets which are some of the earliest of man's records/writings still in existance. What book are you reading A?

A,

Thanks. I did a search on him. Discovered he studies ancient Sumerian writings. He then compares what they wrote then, with what is "known" now. Very interesting indeed. I am going to obtain his series "Earth Chronicles" some time soon. Thanks again.
