preminfo.dll keeps poping up

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Editing DV Films : One Thread

Every time I try to render that pops up. Is there anywhere in help or the manual that can troubleshoot this?

Funny. I get the sometimes as well and I got really frustrated. So I tried to break the project into smaller pieces, then render, then render all the small projects into one big project. Also make sure that some of the audio/video files are not corrupted. -Aaron

when i want to work with adobe premiers 6.01,it happend an error message about preminfo.dll

I get the same problem and I think it has something to do with windows movie maker. Before I got Movie Maker, my Premiere worked fine with no errors. But after i installed the new Movie Maker, my premiere wasn't the same. When i try to export something the program freezes and a window pops up with a preminfo.dll error. I tried uninstalling Premiere and putting it back in, but no difference. So I am trying to get Premiere 6.5 and see if the problem is fixed and does anyone have a solution?

Darren dont bet on Premier 6.5 fixing the problem

Bought premier 6.5 to install on XP Pro after install tried to open premier and received the following message

Premier.exe-Bad image

The application or dll C:\Program files\Adobe\Premier 6.5 \PREMINFO.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette

Today After a complete format and reinstall of XP Pro (with all updates(except .Net and Windows MovieMaker 2) with latest MB and VGA drivers and no other programs instlled has the problem is not fixed !!.

When I installed Premier6.5 immeidatly after its release (6 months ago)from memory worked (a brief test only).

Did not attempt to use program again untill approx mid Febuary 2003 when error appeared and I am only able to seriously tackle the problem now this weekend

My computer was updated regularly (Windows Update)over the last 6 months

I therefore can only assume it is a problem with one of the windows updates that has caused the problem.

Any help appreciated Guys.

Will CC to Adobe and Microsoft

I installed plugins and it started doing this. pretty sure its old plugins trying to run in new environment.

try finding the preminfo.dll and sticking it in /system32 directory or anywhere possible.. until it finds the damn thing.

Ack. This just happened to me today. Twice. On two different machines (one XP, one W2K), both running Premiere 6.0. What was different about today? Well, I upgraded to Quicktime Pro 6.5, and made a few Quicktime MPEG 4s. Bleh...

It only happens when I "Export..." It happens right after I let go of the mouse, after you pick the menu option.

Yeah, I know I should upgrade my premiere.

Just delete non Premiere Pro (v7) plugins, and it should work. Just look at the dates the files were created and this should help you
