OK...what does this prove?

The State Department and the CIA have already put out warnings regarding travel at this time. It's obvious that problems could occur overseas even if the airline industry is unaffected (cha), so, what does this really prove?

It proves that people who make these remarks to show how much faith they have in the airline industry aren't smart enough to listen to serious warnings put forth but the State Department and intelligence agencies like the CIA.

Fly Kosky, fly. But consider what life will be like in your destination country. You may be there for a while.

Didn't China(?) start this with "YOU WILL BE ON THAT PLANE!"?

Are all these guys going to be on the same plane, with Hoff and Y2K Pro? <:)=

Sorry, couldn't resist...

How about landing? :-)

Where does he say that he is flying to a foreign destination? He does not. The state department advisories are only to some non-european destinations where the ATC and airlines are not compliant. How can you jump to this conclusion?

He is flying to New York on the shuttle from DC. He will be in the air at 7:00 PM GMT on the way up and will return right away. This is roll over time for embeddeds (he says).

I wonder why he is returning to DC so quickly. I thought he would be in Times Square.

I watched an interesting program last night. It was a re-run of a press conferance at the national press club here in DC. Kosky was guest of honor. He has an amazing capacity to avoid answering questions. Not even the press could get a straight answer from him and there were some good questions.

It was on C-SPAN 2 and was held yesterday. Maybe someone can find a link to the Q&A.

Quote of the day from Kosky

Also limited will be the federal government's ability to respond directly to local Y2K failures, Koskinen added. "We are not going to be able to be flying blankets to everybody in the United States."

He may have to change his plans a bit when the airlines cancel the flights...

Hi Deborah :-)

He is taking a foolish risk with his time, at the very least, if not his life.

Kelly, Look at it this way. If nothing happens he goes on with his life, if the SHTF he would be better dying in a crash anyway.....

He'll probably crash into Hoffy flying South to Argentina...

What I notice was:

`I would be out in the 6:30 (p.m.) shuttle from New York, and I will be in the middle of the air when the millennium comes,'' he said.

Long flight to Washington. Also maybe the air will be safer than the ground in N.Y. at the rollover.
