I'm sure you're asking the question rhetorically. With a very late start, with a much smaller budget, and with much bigger banks than we have in the US, there is no way they fixed the bug.

Remember the Japanese culture. You don't admit defeat until you are disgraced. There will be many suicides in Japan in January.
