Water finder

It is a long story but I was trained in water witching, after I was noticed as having the 'gift'. (I was raised in rural Ark.) This was something I learned on the hush. It was considered a mark of being 'touched' when you could do this. I tried using this skill again and I still have it. I would like to use this skill to maybe barter for goods post y2k if needed. Is there possibly anyone here that has this skill also and is using it now?

I forgot to add that I think having the 'gift' is a bunch of nonsense, it's the training and the belief in yourself that makes it happen.

Carol, my Dad was a professional dowser; never missed. He could trace domes and veins, tell you the flow, depth, and quality, and the type of ground you'd have to go through to get to the water. You might want to check out the website of the American Society of Dowsers at this URL: http://www.newhampshire.com/dowsers.org

Folks, I'm "Water Witch Skeptic". First of all, I worked as a well drillers assistant, and pump installer for a while, way back when. I never saw a correlation between witched wells and better wells.

I have personally done better finding wells using basic science than the witches have done in my area.

Any witch who claims 100% accuracy must live in an area where there is no place to drill a bad well.

In my area, as in many areas, if a person could tell you where to get good water, he'd be one RICH DUDE.

I've had a couple of people claim to be 100% accurate, and have challenged them to pay for the cost of my well if they are wrong, and I'd pay them the same amount if they are right. They stand to make a few thousand dollars real easily, right? But they wouldn't do it.

I'd be happy to pay double the cost of drilling in many areas where I've drilled, just to alleviate the fear of getting a dry hole. But I don't know anyone who will take the challenge.

Someday, someone will have a "witch off", and see who can really find water--ha!
