Where can I get WINONCD ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I read so much about WinonCD as being the best software outhere for making VCD. I checked the Cequdrat site but they don't have any info on where to buy one or how much. Also in their news section the company has been bought by Adaptec in July 99. Any site where I can download a trial version ?.

Thanks

I bought a copy at spotshop about 2 weeks ago. I think I paid $83. I connected to spotshop through the gateway web site. www.gateway.com. Then click on accessories. I am back to using Easy CD creator now though. Cequadrat worked better for Video CD's, but screwed up when I made audio CD's. I finally got Easy CD creator to burn my video CD's without a problem and switched back to that.

To Bruce Kuhn, I thought, but I haven't tried, to install both Easy CD Creator and WinOnCD so that I can use the former for creating VCDs and the later for audio CDs, gathering on the strengths of both, as you have found out. You say you uninstalled WinOnCD: will installing both together cause any conflict?? Thanks for any info.

Yes, they do have conflict if you installed both. I know that since I did that before. For some reasons, once I installed WinonCD, my SCSI scanner didn't work and I need to uninstall WinonCD and reinstalled EZ CD Creator.
