Singleplayer vs Multiplayer : LUSENET : Planescape: Torment : One Thread

Torment has already been set as a singleplayer experience only; Black Isle totally ripped out the multiplayer aspect of the Infinity engine (the engine used in Baldur's Gate and Torment) for Torment. How will this affect your decision to buy/not buy Torment? Will the lack of multiplay affect your enjoyment of the game?

No multiplay!!!!!!

Game with a decent plot!!!!!!!!

No stupid gay.....Well.... my 6/6/6 f/m/t has got all his stats up to 25 'cause I've picked up those manuals so many times, but its OK cause he's only got three copies of that +6 singing dancing defender.

Plus it counts out a very annoying poster on the developers cage called Harmageddon (go check the archives sometime) and really, I don't think it would be possible for me to wish him more pain.

I think I got enough multiplay from BG. I will definately buy this game. Not any more or less so because it is single player.

I have a hard enough time getting along with friends with the pencil and paper Planescape game, why would I want to play multiplayer Planescape? ;)

Seriously though, if story, character, tone, and theme is enhanced if you (they, Black Isle Studios) drop the multiplayer function, then drop it like an anvil on Wiley Coyote!

hey give me enhanced story over multiplay any day!!!

Games that are designed for single and multi-play are like the cars back in the 60's that could drive on the road and through water. I believe that you lose alot if you try to design a single player game that devotes] some of its program to acting as a multiplayer. Either concentrate on a really good single player or a really good multiplayer. Don't try to be all things to all people.

The answer is pretty easy...would it be fun if the remarks from Morte would be substituted by 'Gonna have dinner, will be back in 30 minutes'?
