What are you doing with all the cash and gold?

I am looking for ideas of where to keep money and gold. I would love to hear some real life solutions. I know not to put it in a safety deposit box. I have info on how to dry it and bury it, but I want real examples of picking a location ect. Have you recorded the location in a will? What if you die, will your children be able to find out where? I'd appreciate any insights and ideas. We are talking life savings here.

I have told close family members the locations. However, just think how much money has been lost over the years by people who gave no thought to their own mortality.

The experts on the various news groups have played around with this problem. It is said that anyone that has broken into your house will try to be out in less than 30 minutes. You can use a fireproof box/safe (Wal-Mart) and you pick a place like the attic or basement or under the house etc. If you plant it out back you can put other metal in the ground to konfuse the bad guys.

Have a small safe in an easily found location as a "dummy" and hope that if will satisfy the robber.

Don't put all of your "eggs" in one basket.

Try to have someone on your property ALL of the time ... an empty home is an invitation.

Mom, "I know not to put it in a safety deposit box." I've heard many reasons for not doing this, but I still have my cash in one. Good luck to both of us.
