New Forum Category: Y2K for Newcomers

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

A category was recently created (thanks Diane) called "Y2K for Newcomers". If you are posting info about or for newbies in particular, please consider using this category to classify your thread under.

The idea is to try and create a kind of one-stop shop or introduction for newbies that come here. There are several threads already in the new category, some of which have nothing whatsoever to do with newbies. This may be a futile effort (when did that ever stop me?), but I thought it would be worth a shot. Time grows ever shorter, and it is hoped that if this type of info is easier to find, since it is in one place, it may actually be of help to some of them.

The first "baby step" toward preparation for Y2K is setting up your water supply ie, one gallon per day per person minimum for two weeks. In Southern California you can buy new food grade plastic 55 gal. drums for $20 plus tax and frt. Fill them from your house water system and purify with colloidal silver or household bleach.
