Can you please tell me in which issue your story about making reusable menstrual pads is in? Thanks

Here is a website which has instructions and pattern for washable cotton pads. http://www.pacificcoast.net/~manymoons/howto.html

I like the many moons site, but I have some reccomendations to add. First, soak the pads in vingar water to further reduce staining and to kill odors and bacteria. You rinse them first, then put them in to soak untill you do wash. Second, do not use fabric softener,(I know, homesteaders don't use the stuff, but you never know)it kills alot of the absorbancy. I'm not sure why it does this, but if you doubt it, try it with a pair of towels, one with, one without and see the difference. Good luck and blessings Maven

If the instructions in the magazine or at the Many Moons site aren't quite what you were looking for, you may want to try my pattern. It has 6 different styles, and comes with fabric and washing suggestions. It's advertised in the Fall (or maybe winter)'98 issue, or you can go to my website. http://www.summerlandfarms.com/childrensgarden/
