Hi Kellie,

Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in the Alps. The nearest town is Chamonix, France, and the summit is 4807m (~15,800 feet). It was first climbed by Balmat and Paccard 08-08-1786, at round 6pm.

The temperature question is a bit tougher to answer. It depends on the season, weather, wind and all. Say in July, the temperature in Chamonix can be about 25C and around -5C on the summit, but the wind can be blowing at round 100km/h up there... In the winter it's colder, of course.

Hope this helps.

Andrea
