The state Office of Court Administration says it does not expect any problems as a result of Y2K, but it's prescribing the measure just in case. Y2K stems from older computer programs not being able to recognize the turn of the century. A court spokesman says trials going on after January 1 will continue, but new juries will not be called during the first week of the year.

The actions don't agree with the words! They weren't expecting any problems in January, 1999, either, were they? But they didn't close the courts then. This is like Branson giving Virgin Atlantic employees a new years vacation in 2000 because they're overworked.

Bullshit.
