As a bartender who doesn't drink, how do you feel about your customers? Contemptuous? Amused at their antics? Disgusted at their depravity?

How does someone who doesn't drink become a bartender? Does it pay better than being a waiter?

I interviewed for a job once with United We Stand to write radio speeches for Perot. Does that count?

I also worked in the "gaming" industry for a while. I refuse to use the word "gaming" anymore to describe chance games involving money. It's called gambling. It wasn't pretty but I suspect that the inner workings of any large corporation, especially one involving the procurement of state contracts, would have been just the same. My standard comment was "I didn't sell my soul, I just rented it for a bit."

We all have jobs like that, and when I did work for public television, which is something that few people oppose, it wasn't much better. Office politics, office loonies, prima donnas ... it's universal.
