Hmm....great job except for exposure.

Were going for a silhouette? If so, you're over-exposed.

Were not going for a silhouette? If so, you're under-exposed.

Also, for cropping....if you were going for the silhouette, maybe a little bit more of the sun in the frame. MAYBE. If not, get closer to the top of the head of the bird.

Just my $.02, but still a nice shot.

Hm, I like this picture exactly as it is, perhaps halfway between silhouette and something else, atmospheric, feely and mysterious. The heron under the sun looks like a sacred bird of ancient Egypt (which was ibis, but nonetheless). And the technicals correspond to the atmosphere. Nice.
