New Error Message at MARP

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

I received a new error message today, at least new to me. The retrogames.com server is dangerously low on memory, please try again later. This happens when trying to get any score lists...

Thanks for that, Chris. I was vaguely aware that that might be a problem - the guys who maintain the retrogames.com servers have imposed quite tight limits on the memory, disk and cpu that any CGI script can have access to, and the MARP server can easily use up its allocation. I've just changed it so that whenever it notices that it's running out of memory, it will kill itself and start again. That can take up to 30 seconds to do, so if you see a message saying 'server isn't responding', you can just reload the page a couple of times and it will soon be up and running again.

Chris.
