I just picked up a used Minolta Auto Meter IIIf (for $90- not bad, huh?) and I'm wondering if Minolta ever made a spot attachment for it, like the one for the IVf. Or will the IV's attachment fit the III?

Yes they do make a spot attachment. Actually two, A 5 degree and a 10 degree view angle. The 5 degree will fit all except the flash meter II. The 10 degree will fit all of them. I currently have a 10 degree one on eBay if you are interested.
