Bennett on NPR at noon

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Here in Minnesota, Bob Bennett will be on Minnesota puplic radio(91.1FM) at noon, to talk about y2k. I don't know if public radio across the nation carries simulcasts, but if they do, check it out.

The show will be for an hour.

Not playing in mid-Michigan. Too bad, I've never heard him speak.

Can anyone recap the highlights for those who missed it?

I wasn't too impressed. Alot of should, could, I think, possibly, going on. If I wanted that I can come here. I don't know who said it, but someone on the panel said, "Don't buy generators", that's responsible(LOL). Another lady said, to paraphrase: The bank's are all FDIC insured, so please just keep your money in the bank, It's GARUNTEEEED by the full faith and backing of the U.S.

SO. Availability is the issue, my money might be there, but if I can't access it for who know's how long, what good is it?

"Here, look at my bankbook. See, I have lot's of money, I'll pay you for the gas when my money becomes available. Ok? WHAT!! You're only taking cash? Aw, c'mon, I PROMISE I'll pay you when they get it straightened out....PLEEEEESE"
