They are also suggesting a LIST of supplies and preparations that each Polk County Resident should be prepared with. Des Moines (the Capitol of Iowa) is in Polk County. We are glad our County has the foresight to post this on their official web site. Thanks Polk County, Iowa. Posted for information. The link is http://www.polk.ia.us/departments/tech/y2kmain.htm

Hmm. Maybe I harassed them enough last summer to get them moving. I can't find the list of supplies, though (I didn't download the 1 Mb and 3 Mb files, though).

And just think, yesterday the Red Cross and other groups said that they were looking for schools and other shelters to have heated up for 1/1/00, so that people could warm themselves and THEN go back home! No plans to feed or house anyone but the homeless allready living there! Will someone explain to them how they are going to "herd" 'most everyone back out into the winter???
