Wash how long if toning on another day?

I want to start doing processing my fibre prints on Day 1, and then toning them on Day 2. How long on Day 1 should I wash them for, since I won't be archiving them until the end of Day 2? I plan on letting them dry so I can look at them at the end of Day 1, too...

I have never used this scheme, but I would be leery of letting the fix stay in a dried print overnight, so I would recommend a thorough wash before drying.

i would give the prints a full wash, 1 to 2 hours in plain running water. I also find that when toning prints the best results are achieved when i run my tests through the entire process... including toning, and drying ( since they too change the print ). Sean

How 'bout a full 10 min Washaid, then 1 hour wash on "exposure day", then all my "toning day", toneing followed by Washaid and full 1 hour wash again? That's what I've been doing, because I'm not sure if the fixer can be dried on the print for 24 hours, and since in my toning I always use selenium, Kodak's, which apparently has hypo in it. I guess my question is, should I Washaid on "exposure day"?

2 bath fix, 1 min in each bath, followed by 5 min wash, 2 mins wash aid, 20 min wash. Let dry. Next day or next week or next month, wet print and tone in anything your heart desires. Then follow same washing proceedures again. If you want to know if your wash is complete, get a thio testing kit and test. Don't just use someone elses system. But I have prints that are a couple years old hanging on the wall. Some in sunlight even. No discoloration or silvering. All on FB. James
