The envelope, Please. (Y2K humor, not OT)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

My sister recieved a sealed envelope from her bank in the mail yesterday.

The envelope was empty.

She called, thinking some important papers might be lost.

The bank VP said that they had mailed out a notice to all customers to assure them that they were Y2K OK and that all systems were working as inteneded and that notice...was....er....what...umm..ah....was supposed to be in the envelope.

oh, and pre-emptively, I don't have references, name of bank, name of VP, URLs, or ANY other supporting info. (and am not going to get any). If you can't see the humor and run with it, then go click on another thread.

The bank may have been American National. A friend got the same empty envelope a few days ago (chicago suburb) and was told the same story as your sister, when he inquired with the bank.

Any resemblance between what happened to the disappearing notice and what might happen to your money is purely coincidental.
