A few questions about the tourney...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

1) In Super Baseball 2020, what the heck does the green stat with the question marks represent?

2) Would it make more sense to modify the rules for the next tourney, so that for your score to qualify for the tournament and affect the leaderboard, you had to compete in at least HALF of the tournament's games? That way if specialists wanted to come and play, they'd have to play most of the games instead of just coming along and blowing everyone (or almost everyone) away in their favorite game. This way, the balance of the tournament isn't thrown off by those who don't seriously want to compete.

3) In Mr. Do's Wild Ride, does anyone know how the patterns really work? Are the level to level variations caused by the game starting later in a set pattern, or is it just a random setting that causes certain different elements to happen during the level? Arggll, this is phrased really fuzzily, I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Answers

My answers/opinions in respective order.

1. I have no clue what that final stat means :( Maybe luck?

2. I was thinking of modifying the current tourney to enforce such a rule, I would have said NINE games instead of six... but I think six games would do. In other words, if you don't play six games, all of your scores would be thrown out and not counted.

3. I have no idea about do's wild ride... I stink at it! :)

Catch yall later :)

1. My best guess is it controls how slowly players tire, but I'm terrible at hitting so it's not like I know anything.

2. It's only been open two weeks, so give people a chance. Still, the logic is good. Anywhere from six recordings up would be ok, but I don't think the script rankings should adjust until the final month.

3. I think it's slight variations no matter what. I have solid patterns for 1-5, but level 6 has a few problems, like the third car. Also on level 4 the second car is sometimes fast enough to catch me if I try for both bottom right cherries.
