Don't buy a cheap solar shower when you could get this great one !

I just got a Cascade Designs Packshower. Unlike most, this is also a rolltop drybag, like kayakers use to keep their gear dry. The top opens wide and it has a flat circular bottom so that it will stand up by itself when full and you can use it as a bucket. When closed, the rolltop forms a handle, and there's no cap to lose or zipper to break.

Its made of heavy duty stuff, black of course, and it holds 20 liters, supposedly enough for a 10 minute gentle shower. It has a mesh pocket on the side to hold the hose and a bar of soap. The shower hose is removable and big enough that you could use it for a siphon or something. You'll want to find something to plug the fitting on the bag then.

It costs 25 dollars from Campmor and there's a picture of it at www.campmor.com under "personal care - shower accessories".

I haven't tried it yet 'cause its rainy here today, but I think this is one of the coolest things I've bought for y2k. Campmor has fast delivery too, I ordered some stuff on Sunday night and got it Wednesday morning. They also have drybags with shoulder straps and waistbelt which would be great if you have to carry water any distance.

Your link has a comma instead of a period after www in my address window. Changed the comma to a period and the site opened fine. Looks like a good bargain. And a good site.

I was intrigued by the mention a couple of days ago on this forum that you could use a 2-gallon hand-pumped "compressed-air" garden sprayer as a water source for a shower. Has anyone tried this? I have a one gallon sprayer, and it definitely does not deliver enough water per minute for a shower. Any suggestions on sprayer brands to try?

try changing the spray head from mister to a sprayer head. (and no, unfortunately, I DON'T have a source, though, I'd probably just open up the orifice wuth a needle if it were me....)

Shower with out elec... need a 2-1/2 gal compressed-air can Get them at the lawn & garden store or at a hardware store.fill 3/4 way with water then pump it up.And shower. For warm water.fill can and let stand in sunlight . This works very well.I have used this when camping. I have used with the head the spreyer come with. And I have taken the head off and used with no head. Here is anther way to shower ,I have maed. Things you'll need. *car tire inner tube ,patched. *A 1/2in plastic pipe coupler. *small clamp. *A 3foot length of 1/2in garden hose with a male hose connector. *Rubber-sealing compound. *A spray hose valva. A 14in tube will hold about 19 quarts of water. With a sharp pair of scissors ,cut a 1/4in hole about 2in ,in from outside edge.Wet finger and clean around inside of hole. Cut off lower half of 1/2in pipe coupler...glob a good amount of rubber-sealing compound on the small ridge of coupler...and push into the 1/4in hole. With lower part of coupler in the hole ,pull the ridge up snug against the inside of the tube and let dry.Now roughen the area surrounding the hole you just placed the coupler in. Now coat the outside area with rubber-sealer. 3 coats works best .Let cement dry after each coat. Connect garden hose to coupler with clamp. Attach spray hose valva to hose. To use place inner tube in sun [top of car works good] open valva and shower.

yes, i have indeed used this system. when we moved to a rural location it took us two months to get a well dug (this was during a local drought, and the well-drillers were backlogged to the hilt)

we were hauling in water, and i learned very quickly how to use a garde sprayer to shower with. (it helps if you have someone to work with you on this). just wet down, lather up, than rinse off. i showered with one gallon, washed my hair with the second gallon.

i'm not sure what you're having a problem with, but don't expect it to be a luxurious shower!

good luck.
