Is my system good enough to play VCD's?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I've got a Celeron 333mhz 32mb ram running Win95, and I have an 8x cdrom. Will a VCD run smoothly on my machine? Or will I need a faster CDrom? Thanks.

It is more than good enough. Just keep your existing CD-Rom as faster speeds will cause the vidoe to skip.

Wow, I was searching google for my name and I came across this old gem. Haha damn, I remember using that old 333mhz Celery. Now I'm on a Pentium4 2.4GHz box and I only have enough power for 720p HDTV. I can't quite do the 1080p. I wonder how much my old 333mhz Celery could do.
